WCHA First Round - Denver and Wisconsin in thin air

Re: WCHA First Round - Denver and Wisconsin in thin air

Just losing Schultz will be a huge adjustment for Sconnie next season.

Puck moving Dmen are worth their weight in gold because they can deliver saucer passes to the weak side which is practically they the only way to manufacture goals in college hockey these days.

Schultz will definately be missed, but Simmonelli and McCabe are probably ready to assume a big chunk of what he does now.

I wouldn't count on it. At this time last year, Craig Smith was coming back and Jordy Murray is no where near the player Zengerle is. Hopefully Zengerle is not a Swiss surname, but I know of one scout that was in Madison looking at McCabe that came away impressed with Zengerle. Zengerle will have oppurtunities. Hopefully he likes the makeup of the team (which with the growing pains a young team went through this year and adding good talent like Zullnick, Kerdelis, & Withchow has him as excited as I am for next year) and maybe is a legit scholar (most guys are within striking distance of a degree in year 3 if they are serious about that sort of stuff).

Isnt Zings undrafted? No way he goes to Europe after this season. He does not have the deal Murray had as a duel citizen.

That was slightly tongue in cheek...at least the Swiss citizen part, not the never underestimate the options a good player has (and Zengerle is a much better player then Murray). I suspect Zengerle will have multiple offer to consider...hope he puts them off for a year.

Don't worry, Chuck has assured us Zengerle isn't going anywhere.

According to DU hockey notes, Beau Bennett and David Makowski both still out, Chris Knowlton expected to play per Chambers.

All games are being webcast on Pioneer Vision for a fee, no games on TV.

I played goal for over 30 years and never once stood on my head. God I hate that expression!

I played hockey a while and never once flew down the ice either.

Re: WCHA First Round - Denver and Wisconsin in thin air

That's right! Kept us out of the playoffs that year. IIRC, we were the last team out that year. We could find ourselves in the exact same situation this year if we don't find a way to win this series.

Ugh I thought you were banned.
These quotes are totally unrelated, I've just been hoping to see back-to-back posts by these two, and they never do it, so I took matters into my own hands.

Carry on...

No tv, that sucks royally. Fox Sports out of the rocky mountain area can't/won't pick these games up? How much is Pioneer Vision and are the broadcasts any good?

I am a season subscriber to Pio Vision, the monthly rate is $8.95, there is no per game rate. The video is actually pretty good. Fox Sports Rocky Mountain doesn't exist anymore. It was bought by Direct TV and is known as Root Sports. The first round of the WCHA playoffs at DU have been on Pioneer Vision for a number of years with no local TV. See link below for Pio Vision details.

Here is the link to FAQs about Pio Vision and system requirements. The system requirements are important for it to work correctly.

There are complaints about Magness looking dark, but I think that's because it is.:o

Thanks for the info. I suppose $8.95 for 3 games is a really good deal. I'll miss Saturday's game as I will be at the KC supporting the Lady Badgers in thier ncaa game. I'll have the wife check out the system to see if it's compatible or not. Thanks too for the Root sports thing, I was wondering when that all changed over or what the Root sports was.

Ugh. Internet Explorer is a requirement? Is it really needed?

What browsers are required? Can I use Chrome on a Mac? It says flash is required, if that is it, then it should work in any browser with a flash plugin...

I don't necessarily know. I know that firefox works fine on a PC. My recommendation would be to go to DU's website, and watch something free on there. I think that if you can watch an old video, then you should be able to watch the game.

Re: WCHA First Round - Denver and Wisconsin in thin air

I just saw the Wisconsin team bus up near I-70 and CO Blvd. Took me a bit by surprise.
