Vermont : Let the offseason begin...2011

Re: Vermont : Let the offseason begin...2011

Disappointing to see Fogel go. Let's hope they don't get some tree hugger in there that will underfund athletics like they used to.

On a brighter note - "The NHL announced that 36 of the top-rated players eligible for the 2012 NHL entry draft will participate in the Research, Development and Orientation Camp in Toronto on Aug. 17 and 18." Girgensons is on that list of invitees.

13 more months until he arrives on the Cats squad

Re: Vermont : Let the offseason begin...2011

Any idea when you guys host MC this year? Would like to make a roadtrip to the gut.

UVM will be hosting Merrimack on October 28th and 29th.

Also, UVM's entire schedule has been determined. Look on the Season Schedules thread for further details.

EDIT: No exhibition game is listed, but you'll have to wait for your school's announcement to see if one is to be played.

John Gaudreau was on campus. Recently decommitted from NU. Fourth Round pick of Calgary

Re: Vermont : Let the offseason begin...2011

But if he's not going to come to Nu I'd rather he go to Vermont than BU or BC. Bleh.

Re: Vermont : Let the offseason begin...2011

Maybe that small family connection to Vermont will tip the scales to UVM plus those cheap and easy flights for the family on Jetblue from NY to Burlington (Looks like the parents are in NJ).

I am surprised Cronin nabbed these two without them making the rounds last time around? Maybe they are just getting an update.

Re: Vermont : Let the offseason begin...2011

Would be HUGE for John Gaudreau to join the Cats. That would put them in very good position next year when they get Girgensons and if they still have Brickley and Paolotta, etc.

And we all love those fast little guys like St. Louis, Perrin and Lenes....

That would be great, but him seeing the GUTT when it's empty versus Aggannis is a rough comparison for the Cats. I still think we are a new arena away from having the recruiting to be a consistent national tournament team

Not sure where in NJ Carney Point is but let's hope it's not near PHL as the flights from there are expensive and getting from NJ to JFK for Jet Blue flights is no party. US Air flights from LGA are often cheaper anyway

go Cats!

Re: Vermont : Let the offseason begin...2011

This is exciting! Cats appear to have a good shot since his dad went to Norwich. More importantly though, he'd be able to keep playing with his buddy Girgensons. On the downside, looking at empty Gut isn't going to get anyone too fired up. Plus, it's bad that UVM's the first school he's visiting. Hopefully, he'll be able to remember UVM after York and Parker get their clutches on him. This would be big. Go Cats Go!

Carneys Point is close PHL. Quite a pipeline if he comes. Lukko him and McCarthy all use PHL

Not sure what Norwich has to do with him playing at VT? His linemate from last year is going to NU next year and he opted out so not sure about his friend on VT helping either. He will bet at BC 90% 10% BU.

also has his brother along. If a school gives both full rides then they likely stand a better chance thanba school just.recruiting John.

I'm not sure either. Guess I'm just hoping his dad loved Norwich and is telling his son how wonderful living, studying, and playing hockey in Vermont is. It's a stretch, I'll concede that.

Re: Vermont : Let the offseason begin...2011

How many schools right now have 2 full rides available? Maybe delaying Girgenson will pay off.
