Vermont : Let the offseason begin...2011

Re: Vermont : Let the offseason begin...2011

UVM won 8 games last year I think right? We should not be complaining about any player or team rankings until we earn a little respect.

Exactly!!! Hopefully we play better with lower expectations. Seems to have helped in the past........

Now that all of the rankings for the top 10 of each position is out, not one Catamount is included in the rankings. Do you agree with this or not? I find it hard to believe myself.

Re: Vermont : Let the offseason begin...2011

How do you find that hard to believe? Madore would probably be the best argument for a top 10 but I can't argue with the goalies ahead of him. I don't think we have a top 25 forward or D based on last years production. Who is our best D? Mackenzie probably based on experience but he might not be top 50 or even top 75, after that I hope it's Paolotta (spelling?) but that remains to be seen as Bruneteau showed good offensive potential.

Forward wise our best performer last year was Stalberg and his 26 points is probably not top 50. I think he may be top 25 this year, and maybe Brickley also, but that also remains to be see.

Bummer that the first real home game is not until October 28, four more weeks is too long to wait. Go Bruins.

I am also not surprised. Madore I think could be there, but what is clear is they went purely off of stats.

I do think Mackenzie is a top 25 D-man. But again, depends what criteria you are using.

I don't think this team has any standouts, but they should be solid everywhere. Definitely need McCarthy to step up, and Brickley and WHite to take a step forward.

Only two of the recruits mentioned, but we'll take it. If Gergensons shows up next season as planned they should have a very nice class next year also. The future looks brighter than the past two years to me. Now we just need the new facility!

Re: Vermont : Let the offseason begin...2011

25 more days until our first home game that counts. This is painful........

Re: Vermont : Let the offseason begin...2011

Have any other captain(s) or assistant captains been announced ? Have to think there will be more than just Leonard

Re: Vermont : Let the offseason begin...2011

We need a new thread as the season in my opinion starts with the Green & Gold on Saturday..........Just started one
