That's one way to spin it.

Another way would be to say Lowell dominated UVM the entire weekend. Yeah, that's more accurate. Congrats on 8th place.

Why so sad Tony? Hate blowing 3 goal leads and regualr season titles?

I will agree having watched both games that UML had the better of play from mid 2nd period Fri on. But this weekends done and in the year when teams change week to week like(Vermont sweeping BU and then BU coming back and sweeping NE, Umass back from the dead goes up to Maine and sweeps)the playoffs should be fun.

Now as it turns out after all of the flaming and big talk Vermont and UML are dead even, both tied for 17th in pairwise and both on the road for the quarters versus teams they lost season series to.

That would be an opinion not a fact as "sucks" is a subjective word. I know UML obviously doesn't teach the difference between the two, but did none of you learn the difference in High School ???


As for UVM keeping UML out of home ice....well they did, sure UML could have gotten an extra point and got home ice, but they didn't.........because of the tie WITH UVM.

Either way, time to move....

Congrats to the UML for a great weekend of hockey. They played harder and got the points they earned. UVM hasn't matched up well with them for the past few years and it showed. UML played a better series.


One final note, UML and UVM aren't not tied in the PWR, UVM is 18th and UML is 19th as UVM has the tiebreaker. But yes they both have 8 PWC tied with CC and UNO.

They will both need to take their series on the road to advance to the NCAA's and hope for a little help.

You guys are all missing the most important question: Does UVM hang a banner for an 8th place finish? I'm going with "yes"...

What is this "Revenge of the Nerds". That women's banner is about a close to women these BC dorks have ever been. Let's spend all our time on hockey message boards and with Rosy Palmer..........."The hours we spent holding up that womens banner up with one hand is AWESOME". Now let's go choke again against UNH and do some choking later with Rosy..... NIcky P would be proud of you tools as I am sure Onion Breath is as well.

Since I sit in Section N (for the last time this year ... man, that sucks), I had a question for those that might have had a better view of the Holmstrom hit. I have heard from a couple of fans that are opposite me (including a BU fan) that the guy Ben hit was already going down to the ice and there was no way to stop. Just curious as to what others might have seen, since I had no angle.

Also, why wasn't there a power play for flat out running Hutton in the third?

And no to some of you UVM fans, this is not me blaming the refs. Lowell just couldn't bury the chances they had, plain and simple.

I was in Section X for the game last night. I said as soon as the hit happened that the UVM player was already going down. I see why Holmstrom was given the 5 minutes since the UVM player's head went directly into the boards. It was very scary seeing that.

Monty, I sit in section B and it looked to me like the UVM player was turning and starting to fall before Holmstrom even made contact. Ben really didn't get that much of the UVM player, but the way he went into the boards I had a feeling they would give him the gate.

Terrible non call on that Hutton play, the UVM player just ran him.

Plenty of opportunities early in game for Lowell to put a few more in the net. The just couldn't get a bounce.

We took 3 out of 4 points this weekend, putting us in control of our own destiny for a 1 seed. I'm good.

The whistles were away for the entire third, though the running of Hutton may have been the most blatant penalty. I wish Lowell took more advantage of the whistles being away like UVM did. Smart move on their part. They hooked, held, tripped, etc. at will. Lowell got away with everything they did, but man, they could have taken their skate off and cut Cullity (Tewksbury trash) up and gotten away with it.

At least with Lowell done for home games this year there is going to be no more games that will get stopped because of random end of period horns going off, one games was bad but 2 nights in a row is sad. Must be someone brought his kid to the control tower again.

And what math does UML use to figure attendance anyway?

6121 out of 6496?

The end sections were 80% empty and not because of a late crowd this was all game, mid-3rd period before a face off I was able to see at least 4 sections who had maybe 5 times empty seats to people.

They don't teach math at UML. I'm not sure exactly what they do teach but I think its the equivilent of a high school tech school judging by some of the fans that post. Note I said some, as a few of you are quite pleasant to converse with.
