Haven't been in here in a bit so apologize if I missed something, but did Jake Massie sign with the Hawks? NHL.com says Jake Massie 21yo D from Montreal picked up an assist tonight in their preseason game. What's the deal?

It's definitively not a good style of play... but it's Sneddon's best option.
It's just not a sustainable solution, Cornell is an outlier. You can't just park the bus and expect it to work. Modern hockey is faster than ever, you need to utilize speed and skill and score goals.
And herein lies the problem. Let's go through the teams that have consistently won 1-0 and 2-1 games year after year.
1) Cornell
2) there is no 2
It's definitively not a good style of play... but it's Sneddon's best option.

Defensive shut down hockey makes sense if you don't have much talent on offense.

Let us see if this gives Sneddon more years of a 'participation contract'! three things happen 1. either they get it together and finish above 8 and have good season to which I say good but this is the longest shot 2. they finish 8 barely and get swept by BC again but Sneddon get his contract renew because we will hear how they fought hard all season with challenges of losing top players to barely make it while nothing change! 3. they do not make it but he still get an extension because they will say it was so hard for him to win without his top players who left on this team 4. Schulman grows a pair and if 2 or 3 happen he actually realizes enough is enough! this is the least likely!
still say over-under overall wins at 13 and over under conference wins at 7 how much over is enough to save the man job or the season?

So I read today that SNEDDON was the one who decided not to renew Wallack’s contract. Is this guy for real??? Wallack was responsible for bringing in the sixth ranked recruiting class in the COUNTRY last year. Sneddon could do nothing with it, and he decides to effectively fire the guy?? Maybe he was worried about being replaced by a clearly more competent assistant. Side note...Colton has 3 points in his first two preseason games with the Lightning affiliate (co-leading the team)...after a production decrease under Sneddon. FIRE SNEDDON.

i saw this too and what a joke Sneddon is! what a joke Ted Ryan is for believing his bull**** for this many yearss to put that in print! like the Trump white house trying to spin and deny and change the story look we all know Wallack was a weasel and only thought for himself but putting all the blame on him then saying in the paper that now they need a team effort to recruit tells us what the rumors have said for years that Sneddon is entitle lazy idiot who will not recruit and makees lackeys do it then blames them! same story with coach Mic and Joe Gaspo! Trends here people? Common theme: The HEAD coach!
this program is at rock bottom and the horrible culture starts with the man up top and it is insult to the people who were proud fans who now no show! glad I did not give them my money this year there is no end in sight this secretcy and lies and propeganda is going to continue until the man is gone because he has the enabler at the top in Schulman!

Didn't Micheletto leave for UMASS's head coaching jobs? Gasparini, never a favorite of mine, followed John. And you never know what occurs behind the curtain, there may have been something about Wallack we aren't aware of. Just maybe, time will tell. Not defending anyone, but just being open minded and knowing it is tough to judge without all the facts, unless of course you are in Congress.

Yes he did leave for UMass but sir I meant how much Sneddon blamed them for the team being bad when they were here! man is quick to blame others and not HIMSELF! he would have given them the same fate if the UMass job did not happen which Michelleto was 4th choice! Wallack no saint and was overrated big time but classless and whiny baby Sneddon runs to the media to tell people he fired the guy because it was his fault for the team not being talented enough when it was his fault for not being able to coach them to wins! I cannot believ the arroganse of this coach who has nothing to stand on in the last 10 years to act like he is gods gift to coach and as I said confirmed rumors to me he is lazy and doesnt recruit and sometimes doesnt see the players until the first practice of the year!
