Utica University 2024-25 - Retooled and Reloaded

Just like this year's Utica team was never gonna beat Soderstrom and Curry 😮‍💨

Utica was the #1 seed that year for a reason, that was the best setup team to win
I never said they weren’t beating Curry this year.

That Norwich team hadn’t given up a goal in 9 straight games. How many other times had Utica been the 1 seed and stalled out failing to get past the QF round?

Norwich wasn’t losing that year, but go ahead hang your #1 seed banner for that tourney.

Defense wins championships.

It’s a pointless argument and for you to claim Norwich wouldn’t lose is funny. 5 of those shutouts were against Castleton (x2), Southern Maine, Suffolk, Johnson & Wales. Real world beaters Norwich was putting the jackhammer to.

So is the Championship definitely going to be played at the AUD? I am assuming yes, although the smaller rink was great with nice lighting. Can't wait to play at the AUD during the regular season, it should be good practice for the finals matchup in 2026....just hoping it happens in Beaver's last season. The final this year was as good as any Championship contest I have seen for any sport at any level.

“Much” is debatable.
I will say utica has the tougher non conference that year but norwich had the harder conference schedule that year. What somewhat also forgot to mention (or conveniently left out) was during that streak norwich shut out babson and hobart 2x including the conference title game, and both those teams made the national tournament. Since were all arguing over hypotheticals i remember listening to a d3 hockey news podcast with chris shultz at geneseo and he claimed the norwich coach told him he was gonna win the national title so that means without a shadow of a doubt ur 2020 champs would been geneseo (edit it was adam krug at adrian not norwich oops)
