Utica University 2024-25 - Retooled and Reloaded

If u dont mind the cold im sure you get park a big truck outside and put some folding chairs on top. same temp as inside and u save 5$
I'm OK with shelling out $5 to see a great Hobart program lose to Utica. Hell, I'd go $25 for that!

That arena is quite possibly the worst place in all of college to see a game, because you can't really see the game from the vast majority of the seats.

The top row of bleachers are OK, and that's about it. I wish they'd figure it out.

Looks like the boost from hosting last year has helped season ticket sales a bit.

By my count, there's roughly 2900 season tickets sold for next season, and by the looks of it, they're now outpacing the Comets on season ticket holders

It is what it is for now. Top row of the bleachers is optimal, unless you can get access to the press box area. The view from the press box is very nice. There was quite a bit of discussion last summer to make changes with Geneva. I think the only think that got resolved was putting in new chillers. the stands will not have any changes unless the Colleges step up , which is looking less likely, unfortunately. I think it would be better to put a new rink on campus rather than trying to work things out with Geneva. Just need to raise the SSS after the next Championship :). Utica fans should be very grateful they benefitted from the investment in such a great facility.

Um, how again does anyone benefit from playing in that dump? I'm all ears.

That hole is the worst hockey venue that I've had the misfortune to visit. It's been truly amazing that Hobart can recruit guys to play there.

Sir Fishman, sorry for the delayed response, but I made an incomplete post, I meant that Utica benefits from a great rink that is an awesome community facility . I am certainly jealous of the Nexus Center, but UU did not build that , hence they benefit from it. It's nice that UU ponied up for naming rights to the Nexus Center. I know you hate The Cooler, but it is our home and we have attracted some of the best players in D3. We have no alumni funding pools of cash, but maybe we should, to offset the awesomeness of the Nexus Center. Beating the Utica team at the Nexus Center is a pleasure, but beating them at home for $5 admission is awesome. Hobart lost some great talent but we have a bunch coming back, and I'm sure the Pioneers will be tough to beat this year. I look forward to the home/away this coming season and hope you make it to Geneva for a seat in the top row......bring a seat cushion because those benches are unforgiving, I'll even buy you a hot chocolate. Or you can just enjoy the game in Utica in those comfy season ticket seats . In any case, I can't wait for both games and perhaps a rematch in the playoffs out West.
