What I don't get is why did they get rid of that concession table in the other corner a few years ago? They used to serve the lighter, non cooked fare there, but it helped immensely alleviate some of the long lines, especially if you just wanted a cookie, candy, pretzel, or soda.

COMPLETELY agree. They also used to sell pizza at that corner table. My kids used to love getting a slice at the game.

After you read my post, you responded with four different “view points”. Based on your track record, I can’t say that I am surprised by the FACT that none of your comments really address my point. Instead, you resort to attacking me and my alma matter (where I played for four years). You repeatedly take the stance of a “know it all”….who’s comments then demonstrate you don’t have a clue.

Anyway, here’s a quick “response” to each of your thoughts:

• My post calls out a clear acknowledgement that Utica has fantastic attendance for a D3 program. So, what is the point of your first comment?
• There is not a hint of envy coming from me that relates to Utica’s hockey program. You can call me stupid all you want, but I like where Hobart is at right now as a hockey program. If you think for one second that I “envy” the Utica program (for attendance or any other reason) you’ve got a hole in your head.
• Hobart’s home rink has what to do with my comment? Does Hobart exaggerate attendance figures?
• You can’t “grasp” how Hobart built an elite program because you know jack sh*t about hockey…D3 or any other level.

Two years ago we witnessed both bathrooms at the cooler being shut down because they actually flooded. A number of years ago the north wall at the Cooler was open and you would see snow coming in. You ask how they recruit? Hmmm, let’s see, $$$$$$$$$

Hmmm...Utica report 4,100 in attendance but actual turnstile data shows 2,600 came into the rink. So......1,500 people were reported as attending the game that were not there.

Gosh, that never happens at Utica..said nobody familiar with D3 hockey in upstate NY.

Anyone calling out the inflated Utica attendance numbers gets handed the same tired, never-ending excuse of "corporate ticket sales" or "season ticket holder" sales. Utica has been over-inflating attendance for 15+ years. This is nothing new.

Funny thing is it isn't really necessary...Utica has awesome fan support. Even if you take away the ridiculous "reported" numbers and stick to turnstile data, I'd guess they are probably top 3 in all of D3 hockey (if not #1). Why they feel the need to exaggerate attendance (over and over again) is beyond me.

Apparently Fish cares about attendance because the alternative is he needs to address UU losing to teams deemed not worthy of competition.

I've been there a bunch of times, been snowed-on while sitting inside, had my ass freeze to the few (and low) aluminum bleachers, etc...

But my only real complaint about that place is that the sight-lines are God-awful.

It would be an OK place to see a game, if you could actually see the game.
