Well that was a beatdown...
I'm pretty sure NPI allows each different committee for each sport (men's and women's hockey do not need to be the same, each different committee) to weigh criteria differently. There is a deadline that they have before the season that they have to "set the dials" so to speak about how much each criteria is going to be weighted and then it is in place and used throughout the entire season.
More to what you're asking, the main difference is that the NPI simplifies the process and expands on what a quality win means for teams. In the pairwise for instance, things could "count twice" when you get a win and H2H. Also, instead of a hard cut-off for getting a boost by beating a top 10 team per se and then no boost for beating the 11th team, this system allows for you to still get more credit for beating the 11th team, just not quite as much as the 10th team.
Is the game delayed, or is it an issue with the stream?
All these BS statistical gymnastics, while the KRACH remains the best metric of all.
Are Americans the most stupid people on Earth, or what?
The only takeaway from this weekend is that Nazareth is bad
And sadly I think they're gonna end up being better than Brockport and Chatham
We are in for some ugly hockey for a good amount of conference play
Looks like it, but that's been the case ever since the inception of the UCHC.
We're going to have to hang our hats on the Genny weekend, if we want Utica to make any real hay via the stats.
Having said that, I like this team. If not for poor goaltending in the 2nd Adrian game, UU would be in really great shape right now.
Really good shape from sweeping the team that is currently dead last in the NCHA? Are you huffing the paint thinner during your lunch break at Lowe's again? Or still that depressed over 312-226?

Nubs you’re better than this. Its not our fault Norbert has played nobody through the first 7 games.
Yes because Adrian is the worst team in the league that's going to finish 90th in the new NPI or whatever it is right?
Is the St. Norbert coach going to throw a hissy fit again when they inevitably play Adrian in the tournament and probably lose again?
They must not teach reading comprehension at Utica Community College. I said currently.
I know these are difficult concepts to grasp when you're a fan at a place that turns the lights out at the Aud to hang league championship banners.
Now now Russell be nice to us mere mortals. We are in Europe for the next month. We left Saturday the day after the Whiteout game Friday with Platty. That game was an evolution of a very young hockey team with limited experience together. I have been to a number of practices and have seen continuous progression. They are a great group of young players very eager to utilize the system. Being in Europe takes us away from what I live for but we wanted to see the Hollidays up close in Europe. So Russell come to the New Years tournament and I will buy you a beer
Stevens Point and St. Olaf were NCAA Tournament teams last year. Keep trying though.
I don't know what this has to do with the Utica thread, but I'll bite...
I just came back from Asia. Which is why I missed the Whiteout Weekend.
I do want to see Oswego. This year's team seems to have exceeded all expectations when you bring in essentially a whole new team. Whether I make it up to the New Year's tourney depends on my mood and the weather. But to bring this back to Utica, I do plan on going to their tournament at least one day, so I'll get to see Oswego there.
