Utica University 2023-24: The Rebuild????

Explain how RIT going D-1 has enhanced Jack **** for RIT students, or for the the college in a general sense. Cite the "many examples", you old, drunken gas-bag.

I've only talked about hockey, as in win/loss, attendance, etc. If UU goes D-1, it'll very likely work out even worse than it has for RIT.

All your bull**** regarding "intangibles" is just that. It hasn't happened in Rochester, and it wont happen in Utica.

Couple too many Keystone Lights or what Fish?

It's been explained. You don't like the explanation so you dismiss it. The fact that you don't like the explanation (sorry to spell this out for you) likely is inconsequential to the RIT leadership. They've gotten what they want out of the experience and don't need your approval. Sadly, neither does Utica if they decide they want the same....

I'm not sure what expletive-laden name-calling gets you..... That's not much of an argument either.

Is there any actual evidence, anywhere, that indicates such a move improves the college experience for anyone associated with the university in question?

No, but there is a report that they paid some consultant to project what various options would do.

Here's a Google search for higher education athletics consultants you want evidence call them all to see which one UU hired and report back

https://www.google.com/search?q=Hig...Y4NjZqMGoxNagCALACAA&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8

Its higher education man they don't do anything without 3 reports 8 committees and a couple of working groups, especially in this environment where small liberal arts schools are dropping like flies experiences like athletics act as an anchoring agent and bring in bodies and tuition that do not an intangible that economics 101 generally speaking in our current climate any small higher ed institution with enrollments lower then 3,000 is going to need to do something to stay active and relevant and if you need evidence for that statement ask Caz and St. Rose

Wow. Just wow.

if this doesn’t prove to the rest of the world what kind of a loser you are and how right Sir Nubs is about you and how you are the worst debater in the history of the human race, nothing will.

How is anybody surprised by his response? All of his rants come at roughly the same time at night, usually after guzzling down the Old Grandad and being horked off after a Utica loss or a rough day hawking fine Kohler products at Lowe's.

Steve's abusive responses, projecting and failure to understand why others can't think like him just shows how deep-seated his narcissism is.

Deep down the D1 thing scares him as they would no longer be a perennial national power, winning one NCAA Tournament game per decade. Come to think of it, RIT once won two D1 NCAA games in the same season. Could it be that RIT has had more of an impact in D1 than Utica has had in D3? You can certainly make the argument.

This is one reason Geneseo and Brockport decided to make the radical move to another conference instead of dropping athletics programs to save money. Some of the most valuable town & gown experiences and relationships at Geneseo are a byproduct of men's hockey games.

I don't know why the fish haters keep on trying to debate him on any topic. But I have to admit I do find lots of humor in reading you guys stuff. :)
Oswego '88

If I recall correctly the nexus center also has a brand new restaurant/bar on its 2nd floor so he can have double the fun

From those closest to the SUNY, I would be interested in hearing from ya'll, what are the prospects for the future of the SUNYAC with regards to hockey (and ultimately all sports) should this transaction occur?

Morrisville and Canton are being added as full members for all sports next year so Canton will make 8 for hockey. As for current sunyac members onenta is no where near an ice rink and new paltz would have to drive 20 min to poughkeepsie for their rink so theyre not gonna add hockey anytime soon. If they want to get back up to 9 or even 10 while keeping it a suny school conference only theyre gonna have to really stretch out and try to convince schools like Cobleskill, Delhi, Purchase and Maritime to add hockey which are 5-7 hours away from most current members... but then again so is plattsburgh

Plattsburgh is an hour and a half from Potsdam and 1 hour and 45 minutes from Canton. A little over 4 hours from the land of Oz,

I mean Buff State Fredonia Cortland and Morrisville also exist as well. Plus 4 hours is what google maps tell us you throw in the north country weather and the fact most teams are taking coach buses on very rural state routes that definitely increases the time

Most times the worst weather on the Oz trip would be once the bus hits I81 to the Rt 104 exit to Oswego. From Plattsburgh to Watertown is usually pretty clear. There are of course some exceptions. Plattsburgh to Potsdam/Canton are pretty routine and weather is spotty, I agree. So far this year there has been minimal snow in the northeast.

Folks going to the Utica games this weekend.........Don't know how widespread this is known but the Friday game (tonight) at the Nexus Center has been postponed till 12:30 on Sunday (still at the Nexus Center) and Saturday's game at the AUD has had its start time moved up to 6:00 PM.

Are you guys getting the lake effect? Because I don't see anything in your forecast.

No, but it I think we are expecting pretty severe wind chills tonight. I don't know what caused the change. I first heard it this morning (too early, this morning..lol) but did not hear the first part of the announcement which might have had a reason for the change. No further info on the institution's site. Perhaps something relating to travel issues for LVC?

EDIT: I see that all classes at LVC are being taught remotely today "due to the anticipated storm."
