What I found even more surprising than UC winning was that they actually outplayed OSU for the bulk of the game...Thought looked a little sluggish vs. Brockport, but they were flying around last night.Their passing and their D was very solid, too. Importantly, Utica was really disciplined, and didn't take a single lazy/selfish penalty all night.They play like that all year, and they could go places.

Anyone in the know have a status on Zach Smoot? He got hurt in the Brockport game and didn't play vs. Oswego. Thanks...

Talked to him tonight down in the locker room, he will be returning from his injury tomarrow night (11/5) against St.Micheals.

Will be good to have Smoot's scoring-touch back, especially after UC having been thoroughly dominated by Elmira tonight. Could very easily have been a 5-1 game, had Evan not played so well early on.

Very disappointing effort; Utica didn't even start competing until they fell behind, 56 minutes into the game... What happened to the team that beat Oswego last week?

Can anyone explain to me what Heenan was thinking last night UC was plainly OUT COACHED. Forwards on a pp rarly ever works as was displayed when Zappia scored. Very frustrating to watch. Roll the lines !!

UC looked much better tonight- albeit in a home game against an obscure preppy school from Possum Butt, Vermont- but once again they didn't wake up until their opponent scored a goal.

This team is talented enough to compete with anyone, quite probably, but not talented enough to take nights off and expect to beat the Elmiras of the world.

I was kinda giddy after seeing them play so well vs. Oswego, but the jury is still out on this group. On-ice leadership might be an issue. Coffman garnered 3 points and three penalties tonight... And the latter is not exactly what you need from your captain.

St. Mikes is in Downtown Burlington and could be a great hockey school if they ever get the chance to drop down to D3 from their D2 limbo status

Historically they have put all their emphasis on a rather mediocre bouncy ball team.

Correct. Basketball is the only sport that St. Michael's offers athletic scholarships in even though they are eligible to do so in all sports.

Though I think that, if I remember the past at all, they would be immediately out of DIII hockey with their first scholarship in that sport.
