Utica College Pioneers '13-'14 = Lewiston or Bust

Re: Utica College Pioneers '13-'14 = Lewiston or Bust

Yes, at least in terms of winning that game.

UC is going to endure a rough season next year, IMO, while OSU has a lot of upside to look forward to.

Re: Utica College Pioneers '13-'14 = Lewiston or Bust

"Free and clear" doesn't exist there, if memory serves, but at least a fair portion of your taxes go to what really matters.

For instance, and the last I knew, you would maybe pay $50 to see a doctor in France for a routine visit, then pay next to nothing for a heart transplant, if you needed one.

That's a logical function of government, IMO, because you need your health far more than you need your money, no matter what the idiotic Fox News says.

Oh my God! Now, I'm agreeing with Fish, too!

Quick, check the calendar. Is Armageddon here?!

Utica will be better than you think. Just trust me on that one... Not going to give too many details, but just trust me.

Brissette and valenti look pretty promising on paper....

Any relation to the Samuels-Thomas that just graduated from Quinnipiac?
yes from what i remember, he looks to be a very good player for utica to have, not sure if he hung around this yr,was supposed to be enrolled and then play next yr, 2014-15 for some reason.First name is Trent, played a few yrs in the USHL with 3 or 4 different teams??

He played in 36 games for the Drummondville Voltigeurs of the QMJHL which would explain why he had to sit out a year. He doesn't seem like much of a scorer but if he is anything like Jordan he will be fast.

Hope you're right- you should certainly know better than I - but I'm not blown-away by their Junior stats...

This past year was a major disappointment considering the talent on board, and it's hard to imagine replacing all those Seniors with comparable players, let alone better ones.

Keeping my fingers crossed, just the same.

It's really all about playing as a team which is how Oswego was able to accomplish what they did. Last year in the two regular season games with Oswego, Uitca distributed the puck well and played a team defense type game and they had great success. In Lake Placid they threw away any chance at winning by being very selfish and individualistic at both ends of the ice and that continued into this season and you saw the results. From what I saw from them they rarely pass it on a rush, the player that brings it over the line shoots it and they didn't really do a good job at going after rebounds. If they can get some players that aren't necessarily more talented than this years Seniors but are willing to do what it takes to win then they will be better.

Re: Utica College Pioneers '13-'14 = Lewiston or Bust

Saw OSU twice early in the year, and they looked just a little North of mediocre... The way their young guys developed as the season progressed was startling.

They're my pick for Best in the East next year.

Re: Utica College Pioneers '13-'14 = Lewiston or Bust

I think it is time to start a new tread for UC for we all now the out come of the title here. :)
Oswego '88

"Everyone", Oats..?

I don't presume to "represent" Utica hockey in any way, shape, or form... I'm merely an avid fan since Day One, and yes, I have my opinions as a result of seeing every home game and a fair number or away contests.

Give me a little credit for sticking to commenting on what I have actually witnessed. I offer no uninformed opinions, nor lame pun-links, nor any comments whatsoever on any other team threads, unlike many others on here who apparently have no better use for their time than to opportunistically swing in here when they smell a chance to mock Utica.

Along those lines, if you have anything of substance to offer regarding some first-hand knowledge of this season's UC team, I'm all ears...

(Isn't that what these threads are supposed to be about?)

An answer to the question of why people dont post about other teams. According to this rule we arent aloud to comment about other teams.
