USCHO Poster's Poll: '16-'17

Re: USCHO Poster's Poll: '16-'17

SLU does only have 1 loss to date. TimA's post was wrong; Clarkson vs SLU was 1-1-2 this year.

True, but it is a loss at home against Clarkson and Clarkson has played Wisconsin twice. Something SLU doesn't have in their one loss season so far so. Therefore, I'm more impressed with Clarkson than I am with SLU right now.

I watched the whole first game between the two teams. From that.....to me it looked like Clarkson was more solid all the way around, but the scoring threats St Lawrence had looked more serious. That first line especially!

Exactly my impression...bearing in mind it was just one game.

In the words of the immortal Vince Lombardi: "WHAT THE HELLLLLS GOIN ON HERE"

Wisco clobbers Minn 8-2 after losing to them 2-0

simple, Mn beats WI with Cameranesi in for half the game
then loses to them without her

so unless I hear she is out for the season:

1) MN
2) WI
3) UMD (cannot put either StL or Clarkson above them since the only comparison, UMD beat WI, while Clarkson did not)
4) Clarkson (over SLU by their win being more recent)
5) SLU

it's nice the rest of you are impressed by the 8 goal output but conveniently ignore being shut out
the above are all very close at the moment, very little separation

in the what the hell, it really doesn't matter dept.:

6) Quinnipiac
7) BC
8) Colgate
9) Princeton
10) Bobby Morse

Close call, but I think the Franklin Pierce poll was more accurate.

In the words of the immortal Vince Lombardi: "WHAT THE HELLLLLS GOIN ON HERE"

Wisco clobbers Minn 8-2 after losing to them 2-0
BU loses to UConn'
Northeastern loses to Vermont
Bemedji loses to Minn State
Colgate ties Hahvad
North Dakota ties and loses to Ohio State

Part deux

it's called reality
ever since the Perfect Season, there has been an expectation of another
even this year a few thought so, people just don't realize how rare it is
think back to years past, every team, no matter how good lost a few games
it not only takes a very good team, it takes a bit of luck, and everything to fall into place for it to happen.

Re: USCHO Poster's Poll: '16-'17

This WAS my poll Sunday evening...I was PO'd big time at Minnesota's performance.

1) Wisconsin
2) UMD
3) Clarkson
4) SLU
5) BC
6) Quinnipiac
7) Colgate
8) RMU
9) Minnesota
10) UND

Obviously an overreaction that needed some time to work through it.

Now...

1) Wisconsin - Seriously, this IS THE most talented team...period. Will they end up being the best team in the end? We'll see.
2) Clarkson - There ya gooo, eastern elitists...
3) Minnesota - People got to see stuff they ought not to have seen out of this program...But hey, they're human after all. It will be interesting to see how they respond at BU.
4) UMD - This is a team that now suddenly has an opening with the Minnesota meltdown. Do they have it in them to take advantage of it?
5) SLU - It was going swimmingly well until there were 30 seconds left Thursday night and things got worse from there.
6) BC - Where are the BC supporters? They should have had enough time to get over last year plus BC is starting to fest on cupcakes again.
7) Quinnipiac - They are in Pairwise no-mans land.
8) Colgate - Don't look now but that's Bobby Mo in the rear-view mirror although...Objects may appear closing than they are.
9) Robert Morris - Nice sweep of Penn State, but still...
10) Whatever team Grace Zumwinkle is on (Breck)...or Princeton?

I broke my right elbow the other day so it might take me some time to compile this lol

Oh my! What an awful deal! Best wishes and a prayer for successful healing! What is the project recovery time?

Since you are playing injured, I won't gripe about UW not being red. :)

Here's to fast healing. Not sure which situation is worse, you breaking your elbow or my friends wife tripping on a step, falling into the side of a door and breaking her arm in SEVEN (7) places between the elbow and shoulder.

Re: USCHO Poster's Poll: '16-'17

Thanks haha... I'm visiting family in Arizona and fell off my cousin's skateboard trying to do an "ollie" lol

It's starting to feel a bit better. I once broke both my elbows at the same time, it wasn't that long until I was able to start using them again. I'm just glad it's only one this time haha

Re: USCHO Poster's Poll: '16-'17

Skateboarding down Duluth's steep hills, back when you had to configure your own board borrowing the wheels from roller skates, was way more risky than when skating on the high-tech custom skateboards of today. I'm speculating, but it might have good for the development of hockey players 'back in the day' also. ;)

Are you 12 or insane?!?!

I fractured my pelvis into 3 pieces falling 4 feet & I wasn't even doing anything remotely close to a skateboard let along showing off on one!
