While I'm sure he appreciates you being his white knight, I'd love to rest on the laurels of 5 Top 15 albums over ten years when I'm 70+.
His fans are resting on his laurels too.
Have you heard Find My Way? It's abysmal.

The 1960s group has had 1.7 billion Spotify streams this year so far. The age-group streaming the music is not the baby boomers that fueled Beatlemania, but rather, two generations removed, including many teenagers.
The figures prove the enduring appeal of the still-fresh songs and ensure that the money-machine of the most successful musical act in history will continue.
Pre-orders mean that the Abbey Road reissue, which came out on September 26, will surely follow the chart-topping success of the 50[SUP]th[/SUP]-anniversary reissues of The Beatles (White Album) last year and Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band in 2017.
Spotify research shows that of the 1.7 billion streams, 18- to 24-year-olds account for more than 30% of Beatles listening this year, the largest share among all demographics. After that, 25- to 29-year-olds come in next, with more than 17% of the Beatles listening.
btw regarding "resting on his laurels" there is this:
Now of course he's not as good as he was when he was 26 or even 36. Who would be? But is that a reason to hate him or disparage him? Does that invalidate the first 20 years of his work? Que sera sera.
The only thing you need to do to get millions of people screaming like a scalded baby is say you, personally, find the Beatles meh.
That phenomenon holds for other, smaller groups, but I can't think of a larger one.
It has nothing to do with the Beatles. It's the psychology of marketing.
Also: who the fuck is J. Cole?
Personally, I'm just burned out on all that golden age of rock, classic rock stuff. Just heard it too much.
Note that it's not his recent works that those 18-24 year olds are downloading.
This. Every instant of every day from the age of 10 (1973) until I just snapped the dial off on the last of it that I enjoyed (The Who, circa 1988). Fifteen years of being force-fed like a goose will make *anything* taste like sh-t. Many people my age have classic rock PTSD.
Isn't it on you for always tuning in to classic rock stations?
Bless your heart. He had a bad song? No one does that!!!
For 40 friggin' years now.
