Watching that led to this. Some new info in there actually I didn't previously know.

Listened to the Disgraceland podcast on Ike and Tina over the weekend. It was fascinating, I recommend it. Got me reading about Superman of Havana, too. Apparently 18 inches was an exaggeration -- the consensus among objective viewers is 14. In any case, Fredo was right -- it was real.

I'm going to see Dream Theater tonight, who will perform "Scenes from a Memory" in it's entirety. That should be fun.

I had never heard her before her appearance on SNL and while her music isn't necessarily my cup of tea (outside of occasionally being in that mood) she has one hell of a voice.

I started listening because my old pastor gave me a copy of "Little Voice." Then I heard "Brave," which was encouraging one of her friends to finally come out of the closet. Now that I'm out of the closet and on hormones, it just feels like her music has been the soundtrack to my transition. For my Service of Renaming at Grace, I used "Uncharted" as the opening song, and it fit.

My levels of jealousy are sky high. I somehow missed this was happening.
I am super sad.

As usual, it was a great show. Hearing all of Metropolis Part 2 live reminded me just how phenomenal that album truly is.

I can surely attest to this.

I'm guessing the intersection of college hockey fans and poor dancers is somewhere near unity.

(Missing gif of that morbidly obese guy in the BU band in the 80s, the worst dancer I have ever seen in my life.)

I'd never seen this. Jack Black is a lot more self-aware than I thought.

I hadn't listened to it in a long time, and I agree. Terrific record. Also, the last one from them I actually enjoyed before Portnoy left.

Dream Theater- "Images and Words"

Wow. Just... WOW. I'm in love. Don't have time today, but when I do, I'll listen to the entire collection on Spotify.

"I was told there's a miracle for each day that I try
I was told there's a new love that is born
For each one that has died
I was told there'd be no one to call on
When I feel alone and afraid
I was told if you dream of the next world
You'll find yourself swimming in a lake of fire..."
