Re: USCHO Music Thread 2: Rock On, Amigo.

Sons Of Anarchy Vol 3 soundtrack. Love it.

All 3 cds have a great mix of folksy/rock-ish songs. Some original, I believe and there are some GREAT covers, too. And the covers don't necessarily mean it's a straight cover in style, which for the feel of the show and the cds, is a good thing.

In the car today:

U2 - 9/1/01 Slane Castle

In the office:

Incubus - 8 albums on shuffle

Re: USCHO Music Thread 2: Rock On, Amigo.

U2 - 10/10/01 South Bend IN

Webcast of a crackling show from quite possibly one of their best tours or legs of a tour. The shows that I've heard from their US Fall Tour that follow 9/11 are inspired and poignant.

This one was a great listen, cranked in the basement while I worked on stuff.

Re: USCHO Music Thread 2: Rock On, Amigo.

Yesterday while on a 2 hour bike ride:

Dub Pistols - all of it on shuffle.

Good upbeat stuff to ride to.

On the way in today:

Tribal Seeds - Representing

Their new album. Meh. I like it about as much as all the rest of their stuff. A few good tunes surrounded by forgettable stuff.

Now:

Pinetop Perkins - After Hours

Now that's more like it! :)

Working on creating training presentations...listening to Justin Moore. All of his stuff is **** good. First 3 to come up on shuffle were Til My Last Day, How I Got to Be This Way, and Guns. Hell yes.

Re: USCHO Music Thread 2: Rock On, Amigo.

Listening to the National a lot lately. I still need to pick up their debut, and their latest.

Re: USCHO Music Thread 2: Rock On, Amigo.

I think my iPod Shuffle is about to die. Even after being charged, I can get one use out of it before it goes dead.

Interpol - Turn Out The Bright Lights
Eagulls - Eagulls
Lake Street Dive - Bad Self Portraits

Re: USCHO Music Thread 2: Rock On, Amigo.

Had a cool experience last night seeing one of my favorite 90's alternative bands. Toad The Wet Sprocket was scheduled to play a big outdoor music festivle in Freeport, ME with fireworks etc etc for the 4th... The tropical storm all but canceled the event, but instead of canceling the show, LL Bean pushed some clothes racks out of the way and Toad played an indoor show in a very smallish space.

Needless to say, the weather had kept the crowds away so it was this really intimate show in a small space with a small crowd. Great show, and then afterwards the band stayed and mingled with the audience for a while.

Pretty cool experience.

That had to have been fun. i was contemplating maybe going to that show, but the holidays are our busy work time so I decided not to. Am going to see Jeff Tweedy later this month though.

Very fun. In some ways the outdoor / festivle atmosphere would have been better, but the "close quarters" / lack of crowd made it a very unique fun experience.

It looks like for when these things are held outside, that there is a very nice outdoor concert / stage area there in Freeport.

Re: USCHO Music Thread 2: Rock On, Amigo.

Yeah, I got to see Paul Westerberg at a Tower Records instore, which was amazing, so I would assume this had to be pretty similar. Great that they hung out with the crowd. I always liked that band, seems like something they would do.
