As I learned last night, shepherd's pie is really about technique, not about following a specific recipe.I'll be making one tonight. Very untraditional though and not really gourmet. Ground beef, onion, corn, cream corn, peas, mashed potatoes, and (not for the faint at heart) Kraft singles. The "cheese" melts so nicely that it tastes fantastic
Yes, anemia does indeed suck, hence why I love offal. I need to try chicken livers myself...Made a stir fry tonight with chicken livers, anemia sucks but chicken livers, veggies on a bed of noodles is pretty freakin good

MIT has a project called Open CourseWare
Yup - I don't know why I didn't think to post it before. Most of the classes have pdfs of all their materials and book lists should you be inclined to do all the reading.This...is awesome.
Thank you; am going to check it out a bit more.Bob - thought of you, but this might be worthwhile for any interested cooks. MIT has a project called Open CourseWare - they put their classes online so that anyone interested (and motivated) can go through and basically take the class. There is one on Kitchen Chemistry which I thought might interest you.
Does anyone have any good main dish recipes that involve mango? They were on sale at Whole Foods this week, so now it's time to cook them.
Or with roast duck, according to the Geico caveman.how about a mango salsa? usually goes good with fish or chicken...
Got a grill yet? I'd say a huge steak, baked potato and a salad. Seems like a good first meal. Easy and tasty.Ok everyone. My first night in the new house (brand new, very nice Calphalon cookware!) is coming up and I need ideas for a first meal.
(Not a big fan of fish or relatively exotic foods such as oxtail.)
