Re: USCHO Cooks: Allez Cuisine!

Now that I think of it, it's a good thing I asked. Not only am I making panna cotta today, I'm also going to start making things like baked eggs, individual souffles, chicken pot pies, etc.

As for tonight's meal, it'll be smothered pork chops with mashed turnips and panna cotta with blueberry coulis for dessert. First dessert I've made for myself since May 2009.
Way to go Shirtless!! Try to enjoy the dessert!

Re: USCHO Cooks: Allez Cuisine!

The kids I nanny for told their mom I was trying to poison them last night. (There is some dissension in the ranks about my cooking). This is what I made for dinner last night. *subbed beef broth for one of the beers - Used Magic Hat's HOWL/winter special for the beer* Friday was chicken, broccoli (their fave veggie) and pasta... :(

(Mom actually picks what meals I make, I just cook them.)

You can try to poison me any time. As long as you don't sub out any beer. :)

:p You're not a kid (I felt funny doing a broth of just beer for the 4 kids).

The leftovers are pretty good, but I'm missing something green. Too much salad lately, I guess... :o

Oh, believe me, I did. And after I finished the last bite, a huge weight was lifted from me...

What mel said.

And now that I can make and enjoy dessert, I've got one more issue to resolve, those being deep fried foods. Do I want to try making fish and chips, buttermilk fried chicken, or something else?

Re: USCHO Cooks: Allez Cuisine!

Glad you enjoyed it. I was thinking about you and hoping all went well.

Re: USCHO Cooks: Allez Cuisine!

Nice, Bob! Good to hear the healthy thoughts! :)

Made honey-curried chicken last night and cinnamon/nutmeg roasted sweet potatoes and red onion. Had everything set so that when I came in from shoveling...dinner was ready. :)

Re: USCHO Cooks: Allez Cuisine!

Never mind.

Anyways, I was sent a link today for "Ice Cream Bread". Google it. I'm definitely going to try it out.

Re: USCHO Cooks: Allez Cuisine!

I made bread yesterday from a recipe found on the side of flour. Not too bad and relatively easy. I really needed to wait for it to cool down more, but I couldn't help myself. :)
