USA-Canada U-22/Development Team Series 2016

Re: USA-Canada U-22/Development Team Series 2015

Re: USA-Canada U-22/Development Team Series 2015

all the players have at least one year of college hockey, she hasn't played one game yet

just thought I'd point that out

hope nobody blows a cork over it

Melissa Samoskevich?

Re: USA-Canada U-22/Development Team Series 2016

Jincy Dunne. Believe she might be injured.

Uh, I think FiveHole might be pointing out that Melissa Samoskevich is on the team and hasn't played a college game yet, so that isn't the reason that Dunne isn't on the team as pokechecker suggested.

Re: USA-Canada U-22/Development Team Series 2016

you people are hopeless

in this day and age of multiple methods of communicating with anybody in the world, why don't you just ask her if you are wondering why she isn't on the team rather than speculate?

Melissa Samoskevich made the team, good for her, All USA Girls Hockey Player of the Year, not terribly surprising

So YOU speculated that Dunne wasn't on the team because she hadn't played a college game and you are clearly wrong because it was pointed out that Samoskevich is on the team and hasn't played in college yet either. And as a result we're all hopeless? And why didn't you ask Dunne rather than speculate?

Do you realize how incredibly dumb***** this makes you look? Wow....

not exactly correct. Samo is 18 from SSM. entering Quinny in fall.

You have to realize, that person is a clown who has no apparent interest in womens hockey. he exists here only to say the most insulting things he can think of, to take anyone else's statements & misread them into an argument, to belittle and annoy. He comes out from under his bridge & picces on threads then goes back. He deserves only to be ignored. Apparently mommy didn't love him enough & this is his revenge.

Re: USA-Canada U-22/Development Team Series 2016

Thankfully, there is a U22 game shortly that should stimulate "different" thread conversation.

Re: USA-Canada U-22/Development Team Series 2016

Final USA 4 Canada 1. Goals were Mercer for Canada and Trivigno, Brandt, Skarupa, and Daniels for USA.

Re: USA-Canada U-22/Development Team Series 2016

USA Women,s hockey is superior to Canada at this point in time. Only reason Canada won last Olympics was the coaching....................Mel Davidson needs to go, her time has come and gone.............hasn't figured out that Canada needs players with speed to compete with the USA teams.

Hmmm....The "USA has more speed than Canada" comments have been discussed on this board many times over the last 8 to 9 years (Post Turin Games).....While the USA has for sure done better than Canada in the Worlds, Canada has won two Olympics, and at the U18/U22 level things have been fairly even over those years, some years Canada better, some years USA better.

My point is yes, speed is an important factor, but there is more to the game.

Secondly, would not hang my hat onto the result of one exhibition game.

Re: USA-Canada U-22/Development Team Series 2016

I think its time to mention the improvement in the coaching situation and approach since the last Olympic cycle. There appears to me to be so much more freedom and creativity on the offensive side of the puck now then there ever has been. If you're talking about the U 22 group or the National team as a whole, there is a lot of offensive firepower, that when given some freedom, can create real havoc for any defense.

Canada 2 USA 1 in game 2.

Fast (Clarkson) and Potomak (Minn Fr) goals for Canada

Baldwin (Minn) goal for USA

Maschmeyer in nets for Canada stops 24 of 25
Hensley in nets for USA stops 13 of 15

Re: USA-Canada U-22/Development Team Series 2015

Hensley and Maschmeyer firing away on goal with impunity? If you look very carefully at the scoresheet in the Canadian press release, it reports that only two of the Canadians' 15 shots and only one the USA's 25 shots were taken by the 40 "skaters" on the two teams; presumably the goalers took the other 37 shots (LOL)?
