US National Teams: U30s & Mrs. Potter, U22s, U18s Part II

Re: US National Teams: U30s & Mrs. Potter, U22s, U18s Part II

Boston Globe story: The Olympians next door -- Standouts on the ice, the country’s best female hockey players are blending into the local families that volunteered to host them as they train for the Winter Games in Sochi.

Two other updates from USAHockey.com --

Kendall Coyne isn’t leaving Bedford quite yet

After Winter Classic introduction, Bozek is ready for Sochi

And Northeastern put together a video package on Coyne.

Northeastern were showing the Coyne video between periods at Matthews yesterday. It's nice!

I saw on the USA Hockey website that the U-18 selection camp/winter festival begins this week on December 26 in Blaine, MN. Any thoughts out there as to what the team will look like heading to Hungary in March?[/Q

Team will lose at worlds again. Too bad, they could have put together a better squad.

Enlighten us! Which players were left off of the team that would have put them over the top?

Quoting correctly helps when asking for more specific opinion...asking the right person. ;)

UConn Fan didn't bring it up, so it's a little late to claim the moral high ground now.

This concludes my 3rd party participation...:):)
And you were doing so well. :D It always makes me wonder ... when people try to quote and it looks like a total mess and hard to follow who said what, why don't they attempt to edit it and fix it in some fashion?

What the heck...one more for the purpose of at least knowing the kids being discussed.

Happy to see the Fargo kid involved myself. Among others. :)

Hope I got that link right.

Me Too, but back to the subject at hand....

Poster throws out the proverbial, "Not happy with the team's selection" and in the process initiates the "Quoting" mess by messing up the "Quote" tags in his complaint post, and to add fuel to the fire then declines to elaborate/engage when asked for details, instead proceeding to acuse that poster to be fishing.

Message for North East Dad... "If you don't want/like fishing, don't throw out the bait."

Is the main event not in the future ?. Maybe the current team WILL put them over the top when the chips are down. :D

Re: US National Teams: U30s & Mrs. Potter, U22s, U18s Part II

i wasn't fishing, only making a opinionated statement.
The fishing began when someone tried to get me to name the player/ers i think are missing in a attempt to track down my identity.

Fact is, no dog in the fight.
right!

Gentlemen and or Ladies, it is very clear that for whatever reason North East DAD did not agree with the 30 players selected to attend the 2013 U.S. Women's Under 18 Evaluation Camp and most likely will have the same opinion when the final team is announced. You would think that most everyone who participates in posting on this forum understands that selecting a team is not an exact science and I would even be willing to bet that 99.9% of the time, if you asked any 3 coaches, at any level, to pick a team from the same pool of players, just about every time, if not every time all 3 coaches would have a different roster. It could be safe to say that everyone has an opinion, and that opinions are neither right nor wrong, and an opinion is just that, an opinion. I would tend to think that the coaches who have been selected to coach the U18 team go into the selection process with every intention of selecting the best team possible with the belief they will compete for the Gold Medal out at the World Championship. Also it wouldn’t be hard to believe that during the process there is some bumps along the way and even a difference of opinion among the coaches themselves as to 1 or 2, or even more players who they feel best fits, but in the end feel confident they have selected the best team possible to compete for a Gold Medal. Regardless of my opinion or anyone else’s of the coaches and or players selected for the 2014 U.S. Women’s Under 18 Team, I’m here to support them and wish them all great success at the World Championship, as I hope any true hockey person would. I’m sure you have worked hard and should be proud of your accomplishment. GO USA!

When typically do they announce the team?

This is radical and dangerous thinking. Internet forums exist so that we may post negative, bitter thoughts and hopefully foster discord with fellow posters. Taking a positive outlook on even so-called "fun" activities like hockey games or the teams that play them may tilt the earth on its axis and cause universal ruin.
