It's the Mearsheimer-Hoover idea that Western assistance to Ukraine means Russia blows up the world, so let's give them Ukraine and maybe they'll go away.

Putin will continue to use nuclear blackmail. If we are going to give Ukraine away in the face of it, we might as well give away the Baltics and Poland.

We have to call the bluff eventually, so call it right up front, otherwise we are sending mixed signals and telling them our word is no good. "You cannot reason with a tiger when your head is in its mouth."

Putin screwed up royally. NATO did not fragment despite the Republican traitors. The unaligned European countries are spooked and getting off the fence and joining. Ukraine has humiliated Russia by retaining its sovereignty. Build on that, strengthen it, keep building a new, strong, anti-authoritarian Europe and push back both on Putin and all his useful idiots in the European Right.

Assistance is one thing, guiding the bombs on to the targets is IMHO getting pretty close to being in the war.

Just curious because we never make good deals, at anything, but especially hostage swaps. Our “negotiators” are always an embarrassment to us! I got back many hostages, and gave the opposing Country NOTHING – and never any cash. To do so is bad precedent for the future. That’s the way it should be, or this situation will get worse and worse. They are extorting the United States of America. They’re calling the trade “complex” – That’s so nobody can figure out how bad it is!

Every time I read that I get a sense of both awe and a punch in the gut. I mean seriously...he is about to turn the world on its head and he still takes the time to deal with this first.

Trump would have gotten their names wrong and spit on them if they didn't gobble his knob.
