GRAND FORKS, N.D. - The University of North Dakota athletics department, in conjunction with the UND Television Center and Aerospace Network, will produce a new weekly television show, "Inside Fighting Sioux Hockey."

The show will give Fighting Sioux hockey fans an in-depth look into the UND men's hockey program with game highlights, player and coaching staff interviews, features and a look back at great moments and players in Fighting Sioux history.

The voice of Fighting Sioux Hockey, Tim Hennessy, will be the host for the weekly show, which will begin the week of Oct. 4, 2010.

"'Inside Fighting Sioux Hockey' will give us the opportunity to showcase what makes UND hockey one of the elite programs in intercollegiate men's ice hockey," said UND Director of Athletics Brian Faison. "The traditions of Fighting Sioux hockey and the exceptional success of the program on the ice and in the classroom will now be shared with a nationwide audience of millions each week."

The 24-episode show will take a one-week December holiday break with the final episode scheduled for the week of March 21, 2011.

"Inside Fighting Sioux Hockey" will air regionally each week on Midcon Sports Network and nationally on Fox College Sports.

"Inside Fighting Sioux Hockey" will air every Friday at 7 p.m. and every Saturday at 6:30 p.m. on Midcon Sports Network before each live men's hockey home telecast.

The show will also air weekly on Fox College Sports on Thursdays at 9:30 p.m., Fridays at 1:30 a.m. and Saturdays at 12:30 a.m.

That's awesome!

Bring on the BTHC, I could care less. :)
UND will still be a hockey powerhouse with or without the BTHC.

Besides, how has UMN done the past couple seasons with all their blue chip recruits? :D

Did you just call the Gophers the king of college hockey? Oh you just made me giggle. I think they've been knocked off their pedestal just a bit don't ya think?

They won just as many National Championships as UND.

Re: University of North Dakota, version 2.0

From Brad:

UND has received a commitment from 1994-born forward Jack Rowe of Cary, Ill.

Rowe just returned from the Five Nations tournament in Europe where he was the top scorer for first-place USA. He was the tournament’s third-leading overall scorer.

Rowe has strong ties to Grand Forks. His father, Jack Sr., graduated from Grand Forks Red River. His grandparents, Cleo and Neil Rowe, still live in Grand Forks.

Rowe said he received recruiting calls from about 20 college programs, but his top choices were UND, Michigan State and Michigan. He will graduate from high school in 2012.

“I’m just really excited to play for the coaches and be a part of the program, because it’s the best in the country in the opinion of a lot of people,” Rowe said.

He’ll play for Team Illinois midget major this season and the plan is to go to Cedar Rapids in the USHL in 2011. Cedar Rapids drafted Rowe in the second round.

Re: University of North Dakota, version 2.0

Hate to defend UND, but DU and UND are tied with 7 titles and the goofs aren't.:p

I assume you skipped reading comprehension in school. What does that have to do with "past couple seasons"?

What pedastal? Since when have they been the king of college hockey? Lately they have been scraping the bottom of the barrel.

It falls under the category of answering the question. Whether or not you agree with the answer is irrelevant.

Now, run along and go beg for a ride home from some other poster.

I quit driving cab. He can walk to Dreamers now.

please don't make us break out the 7 > 5 chant. Or let me guess. You are one of those people that don't think UND's 59 or 63 championship count. Or the 80 championship. Or the 87 or 2000.

If so, then the Gofers 1960 Football Championship does not count either...they went 8-2 and their second loss was to a team that had a better record than them in the Rose Bowl...the final poll back then came out BEFORE the bowl games...
