University of Maine Off-season 2024: Insert Pun Here

Thinking your correct on that...but 4 solid adds thru the Portal...and the biggest in that both Breen & J.Badeay returned...both heart & soul players...gamers!!...solid team that needs to be stronger and few tweaks here and there ..power-play needs to be much better and the breakout of there own end...plus goaltending will be major factor(imo)...we all know what Bojia can do...and with Berzins coming in...hoping he too can handle the college game to a level we could see a tandem on a weekend basis....A team that will need to improve in all areas ..but at this point...we know what they as a team that's going to be iced in October.

" needs to be stronger" isn't that what Mitten and Fowler add?

I still think the D is too small?

By getting stronger means everyone needs to be able to take hits...legit hits but able to hold there own and not get thrown around like rag dolls...yes the d-men are small...but it's what Barr must have in mind for his teams...I can live with it...

Your guess is as good as mine. You have Cisar coming in this fall. Not so sure now since his production dropped off down the stretch, and he is listed as starting 2025 on Heisenberg now.

I also noticed you don’t have Califiore, Neimo, and Carney listed in reserve. I have heard they are all returning, though there is medical concern on Carney since they think it is his back.

Yeah, we will have to see what happens. And as far as not listing the other reserves, I just went off of who I figured would be the first few guys off the depth chart and most likely to slot in, all the guys to listed Im sure will be back and could get into games now and then.

My wish list is speed and hands but > 5' 10".
Also wouldnt it be nice to have more than one line that consistently can skate the puck into the offensive zone instead of the dump in every time. They had to resort to it more and more as they played better teams down the stretch.

One good thing these days...is we all have a wish list and are not complaining about the Coaching and looking for a new Head Coach to take over the ruins we have had...hockey is fun again and we have a positive direction in place....and to think just a few years ago I could not give away hockey tickets and now like the Walsh era there's a waiting list....

According to the schedules thread here on USCHO the Bobcats will indeed be visiting Alfond for a pair of games. Couldn't find any official confirmation of it yet but would not surprise me one bit.

Update transfer portal wish list…

Ben Brunette - LD - 4.0 - (-0.04)

Wilmer would be a nice pickup for Maine, probably pushing Mitton to the 2nd line with Freel and Scott. Although, a 3rd line of Renwick, Makar and Fowler may have a better claim to be the 2nd line.

in one way, I’m not a fan of taking someone from BU, but if I recall correctly, the last time Maine picked a BU transfer, Maine won the NCAA title (in ‘99—Brendan, cheap shot Walsh)
