University of Maine Off-season 2024: Insert Pun Here

facebook rumor, Bradly is going

I also saw someone post in that group that Carolina was going to "make" him play in the QMJHL, so I'm skeptical. But hopefully it is wrong and he is back and better than ever in 2025.

He'd be playing against 16-20 year olds. He's already shown that he can do that very well. I guess if Carolina decide he's moving...

Hear you on that...could be and not knowing for sure that they want him to play more games and practice at times while the college route...usually play 2 games a week....and more or less 4 practices a week...hard to say...if he does leave he would be going alone as Josh would be too old by then for QMJHL....I think him leaving is unlikely but again...nothing is ever etched in stone.

Wouldn’t be surprised if you guys land Joaquime Lemay from Omaha. He’s a hell of a player, would be a massive addition. He’s from Wuebec and wants to play closer to home

Do you have a tweet or something? I checked McMahon Twitter and didn’t see anything on him. Sounds like a good defensemen.

Curious why he went in portal with one year left to go. A good snag never the less.

Sometimes players are nudged, I think. He was averaging 12.8min/game, so a 3rd/4th liner (Hanson averaged 12min/game for Maine). If he's on a lot of scholarship money, moving him on allows Carvel to use that money elsewhere. Numbers taken from https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet...zIsnQl9gi4a73dTctXCzh6bgKg/edit#gid=689537449

Of course, he may just think he will get more opportunities at Maine and has jumped to improve his prospects of going good pro. While Maine may be sorry to see Houle go, his AHL deal is good for recruiting.

Well, the portal hasn't made much sense in any sport so far. Guys are bailing right and left for no discernible reason. Really hard to say if Maine (or anyone) can figure it out.

I'd have to think that it'll end up benefiting the blue-bloods and the more recently successful programs than it will Maine, though.

Interesting spreadsheet. Your getting deep into the weeds with this sort of thing. Nice.
