Agreed. I was liking what I was seeing from him; I even shouted him out at one point. He really fell into the doghouse after taking that major in Providence, I don't think he took a single shift the rest of the year after that game.Dalton showed some promise in the first half. Didn’t sniff much playing time in the second half though.
There was a play specifically that stands out speed wise, I forget if it was Renwick or Freel chasing a puck back into their own end and the PSU guy caught them and gapped them as if they were standing still.Real quick, I tend to disagree with most on here that Maine was steamrolled last night. (I got home too late to watch it live, but looked at it very carefully today.) It was a de-facto road game against a good team, and Maine shot themselves in the foot in the 1st via utterly unnecessary boarding penalties. That set the tone for the whole game.
I didn't see that PSU was appreciably faster, or more skilled... And Lions got the better bounces all night long.
Oh well, great year just the same. Boija comes back, Ben brings in some talent, and we good.
Goooooo BLUE!
UMass was looking pretty good until then. Kind of a soft call IMO.Suniev of UMass handing the game over to Western Michigan by giving them 7 minutes of power play time.
Adam Eisele is a player in the portal I wouldn’t be surprised if Maine goes after. Played with our Penticton crew a couple years back. 13 goals 13 assists this year with Minnesota State.
I'll mostly cheer for the league, but I've been around long enough that BU would have to be playing Al Queda to get me to pause long enough to consider rooting for them. And I still might not.If Maine is out I’m just cheering for the league. Go hockey east!
Wont be surprised to see Lesok go in the portal. He never played again after his stint on offense.Would be nice to have Lesakowski's size on D next year. We have a bunch of smallish defensemen but when you go up against some of these big boy schools you gotta be able to clear net fronts. Yeah, yeah I know Lesakow had a knack for turning the puck over and occasionally take bad penalties, but maybe with a year under his belt he comes out of it and becomes a solid guy on the back end. Most all of these games against perennial powerhouse teams I wish Maine had the horses to be able to push back.

Both probably. Penn State was getting through neutral zone with ease against Maine, not so much with UConn. I think UConn is more aggressive with anticipating and intercepting… stepping up into passes. Maine just kept backing off and played timid. Is it my eyes or is this Penn team tonight not the same one as friday night. Not so physical, slower and sloppier on D.
Or did maine suck so bad friday it made them look great.
