Best case scenario is getting one of Merrimack or Northeastern in my eyes. Would make for a nice tune up game before Boston.

Of the four teams Maine can face, I would prefer Merrimack. I want no part of a single elimination game against a streaking rival, and Northeastern is always a tough out. Lowell would also not be bad (and they just tied the game at 2-2)

I'm watching the BBall game right now. Maines defense was unreal, not sure hoow many steals they had but double digits anyway. They were in the passing lanes all night. No 3 Vermont was who killed Maine at the Pit a few weeks ago, he got no open looks, they could barely pass the ball to him. I will say every game I've seen Maine play this year there shooters are brick layers, if they had some shooters they would beat Bryant on Saturday.
The D was absolutely suffocating, for sure. And Maine never wilted in a physical sense, while VT was clearly gassed in the late going.

Well, here's to Markwood making Maine his long-term gig. His wife was a Bear, he was too, and he's a South Portland kid... Maybe that'll add-up to having him pulling a Walshy, and sticking around despite more lucrative offers from away, which he'll surely get.

UMass has won and will play at Boston University Saturday afternoon. The other two games are headed for overtime. Maine can not play New Hampshire; if the Wildcats win they go to BC.
