University of Maine 2024–2025: Freel-ing good

Media Availability Interviews

Harrison Scott: https://youtu.be/Zdk5A8EuF7c?feature=shared
David Breazeale: https://youtu.be/NC1kFdKOQvE?feature=shared
Coach Barr: https://youtu.be/W0GLS8_hUeU?feature=shared

I liked when Scott said something like “when I was a kid dreaming about playing college hockey it was this, this is it, and I am so thankful”. Us fans are thankful to have him too. He’s a good kid.

Breazeale and Scott are just super examples of what Barr can do for recruiting and building a team. Bringing in great guys, players that fit in with just awesome leadership skills. Giving the players whats needed to continually elevate their game.
Its absolutely amazing where this program is after 3 seasons with Barr. Hope he really likes it here.

So looking at tickets for 11/22 @ UNH and 1/11 @ Lowell games for tickets. Plenty at Tsongas but the Whit is sold out. Can get them on the secondary markets though, but what sections are Maine fans generally in? Looks like sections 108-112 are the students and that’s where most for sale are located….and I’d prefer a different spot.

My experience is that Maine fans are usually dispersed throughout the arena, however, a significant number (myself included) usually gets seats behind or around the Maine bench (i.e. sections 103, 104, & 105).

You might want to call UNH. I looked like a month ago and half the tickets were available then. They obviously aren’t for sale right now but I doubt they sold all of them.

Scott had 4 assists Saturday night didn't get 1st star of the game or 2nd or 3rd?? Interesting.

...NU shoots twice in front of the dog pound (sections 42-48)...

Point of order: The Dog Pound is located somewhere on lower Commonwealth Ave. The Doghouse is what's found within Matthews Arena. They don't like each other very much.

And FWIW, it's homecoming and parent's weekend at NU. The Saturday game is already posted as sold out; relatively few tix available for Friday AFAIK.

But if anyone wants tix, see the maine alumni link above or call the NU ticket office. I got tix for bot sold out games this weekend just by asking

Whoever picks favors big goals I guess.

That Makar short handed goal was a “man amongst boys” moment. Chipped it away and beyond the d in his own zone on the pk, blew the guy off the puck, corralled it, then sniped it under the blocker and above the pads.

Edit: The guy hey schooled is 5th year Dman Moore that is 6’2” and 195 lbs and has played in 129 ncaa games. So given that the move and goal was impressive. Makar is playing like a leader out there. Too bad he didn’t transfer a couple years ago.

But I agree Scott deserved a star. He got something more meaningful at least in the Hockey East Player of the Week award.

I can't get a handle on this weekend but I'm thinking that the almost-disaster on Saturday night may serve them well in the being mentally ready category.

I think Maine gets a win this weekend. They are due and given that it seems like this is when Maine plays their best hockey with Barr as coach I think they find a way. I don’t see much between the teams so should be a couple of close games.

The ground breaking ceremony for the new basketball arena, soccer field and track complex will be held on Saturday, Nov.23 at 9:30am.

Wow, good to get started on the BBall facility, didn't realize it was going to start this year. Couple years to finish?

Add to that the ground breaking for construction of the huge addition to the composites center (over there where the 3d printed house is). Along with the alfond work its going to be a busy place for a couple years.

The advanced composites and 3D printing at UMaine is on a great track. Nice to see developments for academic side.

I have two tix for tonight at Matthews. Free to the first person who tells me they’ll use them

they’re back at the matthew’s ticket office, so right now, there are two seats available
