Union Hockey 2012-2013 - Unfinished Business

Re: Union Hockey 2012-2013 - Unfinished Business

Last year's game with the Bobcats in Messa was a very evenly played game, but the difference was that Union won every important puck battle and faceoff. Last night's game Q turned that 180 degrees. Bennett's right, that was a butt kicking. More disturbing, Union has now lost to the 3 toughest teams they've played so far, not a good sign. I'm sure there will be lineup changes, but mostly there needs to be an attitude change. I don't know if its the loss of Juice, but this year's team doesn't have quite the intensity of last year's. Luckily there is still time to turn things around, but not much time till this afternoon. A win today is CRUCIAL!

The Q and the Tigers already took you guys behind the woodshed this year...

QU and DU are the only teams in the ECAC right now that can really crow about anything...
Uh, Sherlock, I wasn't exactly crowing about anything OR saying that the league was going to be a pushover for Cornell. I just enjoy a hard-earned (followed Cornell through several up-and-down cycles) chuckle when a fan of a team who's had a couple good years is surprised to find that staying on top is hard. Saw it with Yale, now seeing it from Union. If QU stays on a tear, we'll probably see it from them in a couple years.

And when were you invited here to troll and annoy people? I don't go onto ELynah and start stuff. If you want to lurk, then lurk. If you want to make a comment, then be respectful. The Sherlock comment is insulting as well. I reacted to you making a comment with a flamethrower. Do us all a huge favor and comment with respect here. Since you've been through the ups and downs before, you would understand that discretion is the bettor part of valor.

Back to more important discussion...

The ECAC scoreboard is all over the place as opposed to last night. Just goes to show how crazy this league is.

It was annoying to see that RB put Stevens in tonight. Why do you sit a Hobey Baker Finalist in a must-get-two-points league game after getting crushed the night before? I like Stevens and the kid has promise, but why do you sit Troy when he's rested? Troy may have played somewhat poorly last night, but last night was a team loss IMO. Let him bounce back with a strong effort tonight and help rally the troops. Just some thoughts.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Keith.

Don't look now but Vechionne is really hitting his stride. He lost his coach in mid October(4 years hs and family friend entire life) and started out a little slow, as would be expected. Since then he has been on fire and top F for Tri City. Union will love this kid as a player and his style of play. Pefect fit for your coach.

15 Points in last 11 games and is a +6 and team is 7-3-1. In the last 2 games alone he has eitehr scored or assisted on all 5 of their goals.

To the guy who said TM who left Union and joined him will be above him, not. 0 goals in the 11 games he has been there. The same 11 games were MV has been on fire.

I would say Yale fans may be able to crow just a little with the four wins straight, OK maybe just peep.

I don't think many long term Union fans will ever discount how hard it is to either get or stay near the top. They adhere to our coach's credo to stay humble because if you don't this game will do it for you.

Union is looking at the season, not a weekend. They will be fine come March and are still in the getting guys back on the ice mode.

Amen.

Anyone who saw Welsh play last year knew he would be missed, I just didn't think it would be this much...these guys need to bring it every shift for 60 minutes every night.

I didn't know Denver played in the ECAC... ;)

My apologies. ;)

I forgot that the Big Green was a college like us. I think it's the only College in the Ivies with the rest using University....

Yes, I know that Dartmouth has graduate programs like Tuck just like we have Albany Law/Med....

When I wrote DU down, it actually reminded me of the Delta Upsilon fraternity, not Dartmouth....

Have fun.

Keith.

Breaking news - Gostisbehere named to preliminary US Roster for upcoming World Juniors.

Congratulations to Shayne. Another Union first so far as I know.
Ken Schott's analysis of the freshmen performance thus far. Room for improvement but so far as I'm concerned the jury is still out. http://www.dailygazette.com/weblogs...e-hockey-slap-schotts-week-10-time-for-union/

With the excption of a few on here, I just wanted to emphasize this part of the post for irony. I'll go back to lurking.

Re: Union Hockey 2012-2013 - Unfinished Business
