UNH Wildcats 2015 Offseason - Future Planning ...or Just Rearranging the Deck Chairs?

Re: UNH Wildcats 2015 Offseason - Future Planning ...or Just Rearranging the Deck Cha

So I know that the jumbotron has been discussed a lot, but I've been off the boards for most of the summer. I was reading old articles on the athletics site and came across this:

http://unhwildcats.com/news/2015/7/17/MHOCKEY_0717155256.aspx

"Hockey has been such a part of my overall experience at UNH, while a student, local resident and Trustee of the Board," said Small. "UNH hockey games also provide a great opportunity for me to spend time with family and friends. I really am looking forward to this project being completed, so that I can see some of those goals that I sometimes miss while socializing with friends in Section 102."

Now I am really not trying to be the pessimistic guy, because we're finally getting that screen that UNH fans have wanted for so long.

That said, the quote above from the primary donor is a perfect example of what is wrong with the atmosphere at the Whitt. This is not to denigrate the guy, but when fans are more focused on socializing than the game, we shouldn't be surprised when the atmosphere is terrible.

On a separate note, I got to see the new board this past weekend for the women's exhibition game. Looks great, although I'm not looking forward to the Emoji Cam and other gimmicks this season. They've got a new toy, and I have no doubt they'll want to use it.

I cringe at the silly stuff that gets put up on video boards at other arenas, and can only hope and pray that we don't have to deal with "Kiss Cam" or "Wildcat Watch" or whatever ... featuring those incessant fan cameos during breaks in the action.

This weekend's women's exhibition featured the Emoji Cam.

Today on a tour bus in Montreal it was pointed out where the Expos played...once upon a time...

Parc Jarry, perhaps? That's where they have the tennis stadium now. Forget what it's called nowadays.

Not sure they'd have to "point out" Stade Olympique, it's probably visible from frickin' space ... :p

... I do miss Montreal - hope you folks had a great time, and I'm looking forward to going back in April! :)

Why? Most of the comments have smiley faces attached to them.
Time to move on... Cant compete with BC, Lowell, BU or Providence fans on the board with being happy getting an 8th place finish and "home ice" for the first round of Hockey East playoffs.
On, a positive note, UNH garnered 18 votes in the preseason poll. That's only 45 points less than Robert Morris and 21 less points than RIT. Granted, it is only a preseason poll but it is an expectation of where "people in the know" think the current state of UNH hockey stands. Ugh....

We'll see how it all pans out...and personally, whatever on the threads. I'm more into going to the games at this point anyway. Pretty much follow where the action is. Go 'Cats!!!

I believe the number you are looking for is 916 days.

But, did we out-poll the AIC Yellow Jackets and Bentley Falcons?

Cool, does UNH give ticket discounts to AARP members?????

Ticket discounts? We give them three year contracts.

Not like you're anxiously counting the days then, eh 'watcher?? :p

I just dislike the "transition." You are either retired, or active. Don't create an artificial construct just because you want to hang on for 600 wins BUT STILL pick your successor. It smacks of selfishness.

We can only hope that we get the 42 wins in the next two years and maybe he releases his stranglehold on the team and retires "early"
