Re: UNH Recruits: 2012-2016

Eiserman should be talked about with regards to accelerating. On twitter today, Kirk Luedeke mentioned that he'd possibly go in the first round if he was draft eligible this year (missed the cutoff by less than a month). Gotta think that he'd have the most potential of any of the big time recruits to bail, so would be smart to get him to school as early as possible. Also, I know each case is different, but UNH has failed miserably with Cushing kids lately, and this would be a tough one to lose.

The only impediment to having Shane Eiserman come to UNH in the fall of 2013 is that he is currently a junior in high school. He would have to rapidly accelerate his graduation from high school in order to come to Durham for the 2013-14 season. Although Eiserman played a year at Cushing last season, he is now a solid NTDP guy. He is still very committed to coming to UNH.

There must be some way UNH Hockey can thank UNH Admissions for being too busy to review a slightly belated 2011 application by a potential Hobey Baker recipient who led BC to the 2012 NCAA championship .... who is currently the leading scorer in the World Junior Tournament.

I've thought for a while now that Johnny Gaudreau is living out the college hockey version of the Butterfly Effect, not once, but twice ... Originally committed to N'eastern, he sets out to find himself a new school following the coaching change on St. Botolph Street; amongst his several suitors are the Wildcats, needing only to get his late-summer application approved by UNH Admissions to bring him excitedly into the fold. But no, the Admissions Director refuses to even review his paperwork, casting a dejected Gaudreau into the I-can't-believe-this-guy-just-fell-into-my-lap arms of coach Jerwy, and the rest - as they say - is history :-( Accolades galore by the Fanboys at the Heights; a highlight reel staple of a goal that is sure to be the lasting image of BC's 2012 National Championship; incessant Hobey buzz for as long as he remains an Eagle; on the cusp of leading Team USA to the 2013 World Junior Championship; the promise of a decent shot at an NHL career, bolstered in a way he'd never have received at any other school by the proven success of his predecessor Maroon/Gold smurfs; yes - it's great to be Johnny Gaudreau these days. But what if Cronin had elected to stay at N'Eastern, or if the Ivy-Dreaming UNH Admissions Director hadn't been so obstinate? When Eckels steps on a butterfly in Ray Bradbury's short story 'A Sound of Thunder' his - and mankind's - future is inexorably altered. So, too, for Johnny Gaudreau and all of Eagles fandom, to the ever-lasting chagrin of 'Cat fans everywhere ...

Brilliant. This made me laugh at 6am, and that is nearly impossible.
