The poster is clearly a gag. Imo, it is probably a BC fan, as gag profiles like this one are popular on a particular BC board.

Very good get for the Cats. Playmaking center who grew up playing youth hockey in Las Vegas. One of the top 16 year olds out there. Will be making his debut for Muskegon this weekend.

Re: UNH Recruits - 2011 & 2012

Had an opportunity to see 2012 recruit Mike Vecchione and Malden Catholic play in the first round of the Cathedral Hockey Tournament in West Springfield. Vecchione had 3 goals and 4 assists before the 2nd period was over; that's 15-minute periods. Malden Catholic defeated Bishop Hendricken (RI) 9-1.

On an extremely talented line which includes Ryan Fitzgerald (BC recruit) at center and Brendan Collier (BU recruit) at left wing, Mike Vecchione is a stand out talent. He's fast, strong, agile and has THE knack for scoring and setting up scores. He scored from everywhere. For the first goal, he was positioned in front of the goalie and converted a nice feed from Collier. On the second goal, he skated strong with the puck from the top of the left circle to the top of the right circle and wristed it top shelf. The hat trick goal was from the top of the slot on another nifty feed from Collier. A couple of his assists were pinpoint passes through traffic - one was a cross-ice pass. On the powerplay, Vecchione cruised around the left faceoff circle, similar to how Sislo positions himself. He also plays on the penalty kill unit.

I chatted with a father of one of the freshman players and he said Vecchione is a quiet, respectful and nice kid who is solid academically. He's the captain of the team which many say is the best high school team in Massachusetts. UNH will be fortunate to have him join the team.

P.S. - Ryan Fitzgerald is an impressive center; I don't think he lost a single faceoff and he controls the puck very well in traffic.

Thanks, RTW-- looks like the cats are out of a thaw from a recuiting standpoint! Great to see some exciting kids committing. I fixed my post- so thanks. Also- not that it makes a bit of difference, it looks like he may have laced them up against the U18 team last Friday. He hit the stat sheet some 9 shooters deep into the shootout!

UNH makes a nice breakthrough into the Tier 1 league in Michigan- a few other select '94's also heading to top programs. Denver, Michigan, bc, Miami -etc..
