UNH Offseason Contract Edition.

there was a close call up at the Flying Monkey this weekend

The most amazing part of the story was that 450 people had actually paid money to see a Foreigner Tribute Band.

P.T. Barnum said it, there's a sucker born every minute.

America really is the land of opportunity.

Returns are admittedly early at this point, but I've been assured that MS7 has made exactly zero (0) appearances on NESN with his BFF's Jack & Brick since he got his much-desired extension from UNH about a month ago.

With Jack on the precipice of retirement, and with Brick potentially vulnerable to a "new blood" approach at NESN next season, one wonders if MS7 will be able to book future appearances during the 2026/2027 season ...

Not my thing, but I think that most of these tribute bands sell out at the Flying Monkey.

My last FM visit was for Berklee grad saxophonist extraordinaire Vanessa Collier opening for Blues Traveler last May.

Well, taking some liberties with the word new. Two within the last year under our new AD...

Basketball school!

Gotta admit, I never saw this one coming. I guess the new AD's vision is tinted in orange.

And here I thought we were becoming a soccer school. How things have changed in 5 months, eh?

With Game 5 set for this weekend in Boston ... any chance MS7 continues his pro-UNH charm offensive then?

Saw Foreigner in St. Augustine a month or so ago. Best concert I've been to. See that they have been inducted into Rock n Roll Hall of Fame.

They do put out a great show..and St. Auggie one of my fav places...grew up in Jax Fla..visit everytime I'm in the area if I can! Next time you go
if you haven't already check out 'Saltwater Cowboys' a fantastic 'on the marsh' restaurant.

Bruins-Leafs Game 5 in Boston not until Monday, I think. But why would MS7 resume his charm offensive before spring 2027 now that he has new three-year contract?

JVR had a nifty bit of stick handling that ended in a back hander through Samsonov’s 5-hole. 1-0 Bruins

Beat me to it. JvR had another nice breakaway with a SOG in which Samsonov stuffed him. I am happy for JvR. He has played more regular season NHL games than any other UNH alum and is only about 50 games short if we count Rod Langway’s one WHL season. Of course, what would be really sweet is the Bruins winning it all this season so that JvR could join his younger brother Trevor with his name on the Cup.

According to the Quinnipiac and Schedules threads, UNH at Quinnipiac for two this coming season, which will help our SOS by offsetting the OOC games against Army and the like. Also, in the Quinnipiac thread, Joe Dumais recently turned down the Princeton HC position.

Indeed. Well worth the price of admission. Thanks for the tip on Saltwater Cowboys. We will be returning to St Aug in the coming years I am sure and will make it a point to get there.

Good to see he's not yet reached the level of abject desperation where he feels compelled to take any D-1 job.

Anyone else catch the b!tch-fest on the Leafs' bench during Game 4 the other night? Nylander airing things out with Marner and Mathews, Marner throwing his gloves like a spoilt little brat, and Mathews taking the rest of the game off with an unspecified "injury" (rumored to be a bad case of the sniffles)? All the while, former DRW and B's winger Tyler Bertuzzi, stuck in the middle speechless, looking like he wanted to be away ....

Some nice comments on B's head coach Jim Montgomery from DRW's David Perron, mixed in with commentary on some of his other well-known NHL coaches, and a final brush-by on the Goalie Pull Gate incident two weeks ago.

Perron on Leafs' bench spat, being impressed by Montgomery and crazy end to the Red Wings' season - TSN.ca

I am not interested in listening to David Perron go on for 13 minutes about his thoughts on the NHL, but I am amazed at the Leafs’ home 5-14 postseason record under Sheldon Keefe since he became HC in 2018. Given Scotiabank Arena’s naming rights at Can $800 million and the Leafs’ franchise by far and away the wealthiest NHL organization at Can$1.3 billion, I think that it is all the more amazing that Keefe has not been canned yet, which puts UNH’s embrace of MS7 in perspective, I guess. Not to mention the Leafs’ Stanley Cup drought that dates to 1967, back in the days of Frank Mahovlich (spelling?) and Dave Keon, IIRC.

Now, just watch, the Bruins will begin their implosion tonight and reverse the long sorry fortunes of the Leafs.
