Pesce may not be correct, at l east at this time, but his game numbers continue to climb. There again, I might be experiencing long covid because I didnt "Waaayer Ma Mask" ****

**** That actually would have done VERY little to help me, or any of us, according to this article from The Daily Mail of London - "All the news That's Fit to Print" ......... shockingly only being done across the pond.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/a...sis-finds.html

PS: An interesting aside, The Boston Globe Spotlight Team was just about to release their mask study findings that had been placed on the back burner the last 2-1/2 years. This due to 100% of the Team conducting exhaustive research on a much more necessary story - Spitball Scourge Decimates the South Boston Little League. "Nevvahh shuddah happened" sobbed Jimmy "Red" Kelley, who played for the SBLL Fighting Shamrocks.

Just got the email that Strafford Lot is no longer available for season ticket holders. So one "perk" we get watching this dismal team has been taken away. On the coldest weekend in decades we now get the pleasure of walking from A lot? There will be a call made this afternoon.

Update. Called ticket office and let’s say the account executive I got isn’t headed to med school. I was able to talk to Mike Murphy who was receptive to most of my points other than the fact the team is dismal.

he recommended an email to express displeasure as season ticket holders. He will be glad to pass this along as this was told to them two days go and a unilateral decision.

Curious about the reasoning. Was the lot typically filled by season ticket holders? If season ticket holders can’t park there who can? Maybe it is being opened up for the general public lol.

I believe it was student and staff day parking but now overnight residence parking. There is no reason I was given other than athletics was told it was not an option anymore

So not an arbitrary athletics decision. That’s good. A little weird though as dorm residents have parked in the most remote lots forever.

Ah ha….

Strafford Lot Spring Semester- $300 - SOLD OUT

NEW! Strafford lot is converting from an employee lot to a student resident lot starting Spring Semester '23.
Available to non-freshman campus residents living in an on-campus dorm or complex. Off-campus complexes such as Cottages, Lodges, and Madbury Commons are NOT eligible for this permit.

What the actual...well am not going anyway this weekend but this is really disappointing. Guess will have to get there early enough in future games to park on the street. (Which we often do if possible) And coupled with a health issue A lot will be a hike for me...

Not sure if any of you remember but when they offered STH that lot (and yes Darius...lots of us park there..maybe not fill it but it was certainly used) a few years ago they wanted to charge us 10.00 per game. Enough of us complained and they dropped it.

I mean...I get it the U has to take the students needs into consideration..and this isnt on athletics. Just going to create a challenge for some of us.

Langway, JvR, Pesce, Gould, Leach, Winnick

Well done. In order: 1) Rod Langway - 994 (+52 WHA), 2) JvR - 910 (31Jan23), 3) Dan Winnik - 798, 4) Steve Leach - 702, 5) Bob Gould - 697, 6) Brett Pesce - 526 (31Jan23), 7) TvR - 509 (31Jan23). Top five should be safe for a couple more years. Only Gould in this group played all four years at UNH.

Jay Miller is eighth with 446 NHL games, followed by Dave Lumley (437), Bob Miller (404), Andy Brickley (385), and Jaime Hislop (345, but if add 206 games in WHA, he would be in 6th ahead of Pesce and TvR). Then Kevin Dean is in 13th place (331), followed by Peter Douris 14th (321) and Norm Lacombe 15th (319), all within in reach of Warren Foegele 16th (318, 31Jan23) this season if he stays healthy. Only Miller, Hislop, and Dean from this latter group played all four years at UNH.

Strafford street parking is the best! My guess is it’s not the students in consideration, but the cash. How many cars does that lot hold at $300 each? That location, they could charge $500 and sell it out.

Yep, this is yet another money grab by the UNH administration. There's no such thing as free parking at UNH. And let's be real, once cash-starved UNH latches on to an income stream, it will NEVER let it go.

It's just sad and maddening that a long-held perk for STA's has been yanked away. Why not do this at the end of the season and make it effective 2023-24??

It will be interesting to see what new little "perks" the Athletic Dept. comes up with to try and retain STA's, some of whom for sure will bolt at the end of this dismal season. Suggest that we all clog their e-mail servers with protest messages. After all, they don't seem to be in any hurry to improve the on-ice product.....

8 years ago I would have gladly "walked a mile" to see my Wildcats play...talked with a big gun last night in the cog and they are very upset about this development and are working on "creative solutions". Offering Nesmith can't be the solution as I heard it only has 25ish spaces? Some people prob will not have read the notice and will be turned away or...ticketed.

May seem like a minor thing to some but for those of us who continue to hang in there this is unacceptable at best. Scott good to see you here and agree they could have waited to the end of the season? Ill be sending my emails in fwiw dept. Its the principle of the thing...shoot if going upstairs and getting cheaper soda is my "perk" well maybe thats all one can expect..oh and getting in early which..well to me is not that important.

So ok going to let this go because in the grand scheme of things we have alot more pressing issues going forward. HR urges fellow sth's to send in their complaints (just did this and didn't hesitate to talk about the state of the team, of course, in a constructive kinda way) and good for you norbert for picking up the phone. The funny thing (sort of) about all of this is, if they depend so much on money its "interesting" they have been willing to let their once proud flagship sport to founder. But, I digress...God knows how much money has been lost in STH's alone...

And in the spirit of this frigid weekend...heres my predicts which I do not believe have been right once all season..

Fri
MC 3 UNH 2

Sat
UML2 UNH 1 (OT)

Here's a for sure prediction:
UNH Powers that Be: 1
Season Ticket Holders: -15

Stay warm and safe folks! Go 'Catttsssss

Prime location, but it is small and was the first to be put off limits years ago. I used to park there for every game when, combined with no TV and far fewer timeouts, the "challenge" was to be back in Manch post game by 10:00 PM. 10:08 was the best I ever did.

...that a long-held perk...
Umm.. My sense of time ain't what it used to be and admittedly picking nits, but wasn't Strafford offered to season ticket holders only about five years ago? :-)

Sorry to hear this 'ref. It might be worth a call to Athletics \_("/)_/

If you have a disability placard or plate, the campus parking map states: "Accessible parking in all lots except A, West Edge, and Mast Road Lots."

This won't play well here, but I know several people who park in lots D (Alumni) or H (Edgewood/Hamel) and have for years. I've never asked, but suspect they contribute significant money and for some, time as well to the program. Just sayin'.

I am looking into it as we speak...know someone who has an extra pass they will extend to me for the rest of the season in a close lot so I'll gladly take them up on it.

And yeah I'd suspect Alumni etc are reserved for big donors etc which I do not have an issue with..used to gripe that maybe it would be nice if as a STH you could maybe park there once in a season..pipe dreamin' ha!

As for tonight’s game I’ll be interested in who tends net. Our 8th year senior has gotten into some trouble (I’ll leave it there) and wonder if he will face repercussions. Another great look for the program.

What? Fess? Info/link?

Regarding parking, some may remember that when the Whitt first opened, UNH dangled the carrot that pay an extra $100 per ticket and you will get parking at the Alumni Center. After getting the dough, it was, we are still working on the logistics to make this happen.

I'm not at the game but have seem a line sheet guess Fessie is the starting goal tender tonight...and that it's pretty dead over there...

When I was attending games at the Whitt, for several decades I parked behind Swillings, a chip shot to the green, and never got a ticket. Maybe just lucky?
