UNH Men’s Hockey 22-23: the start of something new, or more of the same?

Most likely ignored. I sent the AD an email two weeks ago with what I felt was a well reasoned and level headed communication regarding the unfortunate state of the program, as of yet no response... crickets. Maybe she prefers fans voice their coaching criticism in a more public forum?

I'm guessing the UNH Archery program's compliance issues have never been buttoned down tighter than they are now ...

I have a good feeling about a fourth win for our Cats this coming weekend.

My prediction: UNH 4, Holy Cross 2

And, UNH takes both FOW and SOG.

Well Norbert was correct. I did receive a response from AD Rich, it was very brief and generic. I'm not surprised, as what do we expect her to say, "yeah we here you and will be making significant changes to the program soon!" No. At least the email was seen and hopefully the dissatisfaction expressed within it was noted.

As for this weekend, hard to think we don't come up with a win. But hey, the new lows keep on coming, so not really confident in my prediction.

Happy Thanksgiving to all!

What, no bowling, Snives?!? ;-)

Happy Thanksgiving to all of my extended USCHO family!

Yup, bowling at the MUB would have been the best choice had it been an option, as it not only would have ticked the “no sweat” box (important because we did not have time to shower between our MWF 8 am Phys Ed class and our MWF 9 am history class) but also would have been a much shorter walk to Ham Smith. Golf was a no brainer for me and a friend who had already become scratch golfers during high school with our $35 season memberships at Rockingham Country Club. The UNH golf coach just set us loose to drive balls up and down the expansive outfield of the old baseball “stadium” (Batchelder Field, not to be confused with the outdoor Batchelder Rink that preceded Snively Arena before 1965).

Long gone. Last time I looked there were table tennis and pool tables.

Sad to hear, as in high school we spent a lot of Friday and Saturday nights at those bowling lanes when we were not hustling pool with the rich UNH students from New Jersey at the other end of the basement level of the MUB. :-)

Words I love to hear, "Norbert was correct". Any sane human has to realize that this experiment is over and we need an outside the box mentality going forward. It so far has worked for football with the former star taking over, but the prior coach was still with it unlike Umile who let the game pass him.

The last possible win is tomorrow but who knows.

Looking ahead, anyone going to Agganis next weekend? We are doing a tour of MC with my daughter at 1 then thinking of heading to Boston for some food and drinks and then watching a debacle.

Ok, as a scientist I have been biting my lips for years now on the way the word “experiment” has been used on our threads in reference to our head coach transition beginning eight years ago (not just Norbert :-) ).

ex-per-i-ment, n.

Defn: a scientific procedure undertaken to make a discovery, test a hypothesis, or demonstrate a known fact.

I doubt that BS 52+infinity was thinking about any of the above when he made the mens’ ice hockey head coaching succession transition call all these years ago.

As for your visit to North Andover, Norbert, will you root for the Sons of Scotty Borek instead of UNH in ice hockey if your daughter chooses to become a Warrior?

Suggest you have lots to drink at dinner (but have a DD of course)...I normally go to the Agganis but not this season due to a family Christmas party.

Desperate for a W tonite let's go 'Cats!

I will root for any team thar can score more than a goal. I don’t think it’s the final destination with the U as the choice.

two there means I can reduce my tickets from 4 to 2.

That won’t be an issue. It’s called dulling the pain. I have no hope for tonight but football is off to a good start.

Trivia (no quiz): On 24 March 2006, a little less than three years after Thomas Vanek and the Gophers dispatched our Wildcats in the NC game at the HBSC in Buffalo, the Crusaders beat the Gophers 4-3 in OT at Ralph Engelstad Arena in the first round of the West Regionals.

UNH off and running to another ho hum who cares game if you ask me in this one. Anyone else who is watching nesn plus having any issues? Am watching online TV is a mess...just like our power play.

Lol "dump and chase not working for the Wildcats"...HAS IT EVER???
