20 wins now well within reach ... lots of quality discussion during the broadcast about the trite cliche "it'll be hard to beat the same opponent three times in a row". To his credit, MS7 avoided it in the NESN postgame by simply invoking the other easy out, which is the greatness of the opposing coach, postseason accomplishments, etc. Speaking of which ... this is only Bazin's second losing season out of 13 seasons at Lowell, and really the first outright bad season he's ever had in charge. One does wonder if he's starting the "Umile fade" section of his career??
But kudos to Normie, UML locked it down for the final 35+ minutes to salvage another 4-0 waxing (j/k 'Ref). I've never seen a UNH team push a Bazin team around like they did this weekend, reminiscent of how UNH pushed UMaine around during "White Out" weekend. If this is the kind of intensity and focused physical play that UNH can turn into a habit, I can be talked back into the pro-MS7 camp. "Just win baby" indeed.
Before I forget ... I noticed while watching the replay of Friday night's game, there was a huge amount of space behind both nets at Tsongas, not unlike the trend a generation ago to expand the area behind the goal lines. Is that a thing in Lowell? Is there an HEA accommodation that allows it to be different than pretty much everywhere else? Nigel??
Funniest thing I saw behind the goal in the student section this weekend:
