UNH 2024/2025 Goldberg Edition

Anyone else tired of losing Hockey East matchups? Something is going to have to change at some point. Right?
As far as AD "Sugarbritches" is concerned, as long as fans show up to the Whitt and consume copious amounts of alcohol and concessions, and as long as the student-athletes maintain their above-average GPA's, win-loss records are irrelevant. :p:poop:

This is funny because I just was talking to JB about this on Tuesday. It has gotten earlier and earlier each year, probably in fear of not winning a game for the rest of the year. I will still be forced to buy my tickets but what is the incentive? Other than Maine games, nothing is a sell out. I can buy GA and sit or stand where I want.

I just bought tickets tonight for a friend for a BC game which should have been sold out a long time ago.
But what about the upgraded parking, early entrance, and $1.50 fountain drinks :ROFLMAO:

So ... it seems that only one (1) person so far isn't quaking in their skates over tonight's visit of the vaunted BC Eagles to The Whitt ... well, make it two now. And no, it's got nothing to do with becoming a sudden convert to the ways of MS7. Y'see ... BC has this thing coming up just a couple of days from now, and it's called The Beanpot. Actually, The Beanpot Finals. On national TV. Against whom? Oh yeah, arch-rivals BU. No big deal. I'm SURE BC will be entirely focused to kick the snot out of HEA's resident last place team tonight.

MS7 couldn't have written the script any better for this one. BC will just want to get past this one intact, and be prepared to empty their gas tank Monday night down in Boston. No one is gonna want to get injured, and no one is gonna want to get involved in anything that could lead to a suspension or internal discipline, even. The speed governor will be in effect, putting the brakes on any chance of a blowout so many are predicting. I'm not saying UNH necessarily wins ... but they can't ask for a better winning scenario than this one.

Well as much as I love a matchup with BC, typically fast, wide open and decent for 2 periods. Then the roof falls in and we loose by 3/4. It fun to watch for 2 periods. Maybe we can have a fog out like we did several years ago. I think it was caused by a problem with the refrigeration unit and we had to leave the building for a short time. Or a repeat of-the faulty fire alarm. Only this time we can’t return and HE gives us a tie and then we win Saturday..

If I’m Mike Souza I’m working very hard to bite my tongue on back-to-back careless and short-handed breakaways while playing with the lead and a PP against number one…

And, I’m keeping it real in this 2nd intermission. You want to play in the NCAA Tournament this year fellas? This best be your hardest working period of the year. Win the next 20 minutes and you’re right back to controlling your own destiny. Get careless for a moment you’ll lose and that path may disappear entirely. Your choice.

Out of the HE basement and up to 13th in pairwise after Michigan and AS are both swept (Forever Optimistic!)

Lol good call you two.

Lol good call you two.
The fact that people thought we were going to win and that BC would be too focused on BU and the Beanpot is mind blowing to me. We don’t have the talent (or the coaching) to beat BC. We barely have the talent to beat UVM. Until people wake up and realize that and start calling for a change then we will continue to be where we are…

Well it continues. Played an ok game and then a Whaleism to give up a gift. This is a team that it not well coached and it shows. Another short handed goal with a defensive breakdown.

Lets assume we beat MC who is 7th and one against UMass at 8, that is 18 points. NU only needs 2 points to block us from 10th.

Man without even reading the BC board I'm sure they felt the Eagles didn't play as well as they are capable. Wish for once UNH could've seized the day as I felt they had 2 strong periods. Disappointing that they didn't as it was / seemed possible.

And yeah I know the mishap by da Whale is a drag but overall I thought he played well.

Was good to see Morgan Wynters on the ice tonight; I think he makes a difference.

But you always have to go back to "good teams find a way to win" just wish it was us. At least we didn't get killed as many of us thought.

Onto Mack who pulled off an OT W over BU.

I just read that $15-20 million in budget cuts coming from Concud, along with tuition increases. I would not hold my breath thinking that there might be money available to buy out MS7’s contract. Maybe athletic teams will be eliminated entirely?
