UNH 2024/2025 Goldberg Edition

I have sent the AD and coach an email to see if they are willing to meet after the game tomorrow for a Q&A session. I have zero expectations I will get a response or it will happen but the worst they can say is no.

Q and A about what exactly? How the air was sucked out of the place on that OT goal? How fans are abit "disappointed"?

Sorry am just whining but after 10 years of this just getting abit bored of the whole thing..On top of that? I'm a sore.loser ha!

I agree with the QA. I want to know why with a little over 3 minutes to play in a 2-2 game and about to go on the power play in the VT zone the coach isn't even talking to his players. These kids appear to be coaching themselves. Time to move on from Souza (forever optimistic with a coaching change)!

Am all for some kind of discussion but what I've been harping on is a basic presser after a game to ask such questions would be nice! But who besides Alex Hall with the UL is even covering these games?

Anyway...onto tonight....here's hoping!

Need to win tonight, beat Mac, and sweep UMass-Flagship and UMass-Bazin to reach 16 wins and a better than 0.500 record (16-14-4) in regular season. Anything less is unacceptable.

Very optimistic prediction. But if you are wrong, it is game, set, match, season over for our Cats.

I wonder what “committed themselves” means? And did you mean “week team” or “weak team”? :)

I meant week, as in this week haha. Stop trying to put words in my mouth! This team has consistency issues, and, unfortunately gets out matched / out skated which leads
to (I think) these frustrating penalties...when they're on...they are on. Really too bad they let UVM back into the game last night, kudos to those other 'Cats...

What happened to sweeping this weekend as being unacceptable? (smiley face) Hey, it happens. What made me kind of sad was last night when the team circled up
at the end to do their fan salute there seemed to be no one watching...usually some are standing and clapping (there prob were but I didn't see them) not sure
there were many that were still around. Seemed everyone leaving the game was pretty depressed, except the Maine fans that were behind us enjoying our loss...

That bothers me...seeing the team look so dejected. I also noted the 'wish more of our fans could be more positive'(paraphrasing) comment made by MS7 in an article about my
good friend who you might see at the game who wears the frozen four pins the UL did an article on. Does he not realize that so many of us (well, am speaking for myself)
have been pulling for him over his tenure at UNH? Many of us go to games, away games, purchase STix, and aren't asking for much but a team that plays consistently
and has something NOW and THEN to show for it?

I guess you are only a fan when they win...ha. Now where have I heard something like that before..hmmm.

Harrumph...

If he said that then he is a bigger loser than I thought. If all UNH Athletics wants is a sunshine and rainbows echo chamber in light of their failure then you can count me out.

1.8 gpg in the last 5.
4.6 gpg in the just prior 5.

At this pace, this team will be lucky to win another 2 maybe 3 games. 1.8 gpg is not a formula for success...

Still on the NCAA bubble with 17th in PWR. Those OOC wins against the plethora of cupcakes last semester are still paying strong dividends, I guess?

I have friends who bought special alumni tickets for tonight, which will be their first visit to the Whitt in many years. Hope that they are not disappointed.

How this team seems lost in the last 5 games. Why he thinks dans can be more positive and this is the product. He needs to face the fans and explain what is an epic and colossal disaster.

Norbert: it’s pretty clear Coach Souza doesn’t have the answers. If he did we’d have seen the results by now. I’m not excusing him all all. He’s accountable for the mess. But the performance and record speaks resoundingly and conclusively without further analysis.

I don’t ever recall a more dismal outlook for the program than now.

For me, our outlook seemed more dismal late in the 2015/16 (11-20-6), 2017/18 (10-20-6), 2020/21 (6-14-3), and
2022/23 (11-21-3) seasons. So even if we do not sweep UMass-Flagship and UMass-Bazin, we still should end up with a better record this year than we had in those four seasons.

HR likes this version of the Wildcats better. Awesome atmosphere at the Whitt tonight with so many alumni...and a much better game which was of course a must win on alot of fronts..

Loved seeing Rob Cronin get a couple Lovett as well Conmy's goal was incredible as well. Decent D (odd last goal but whatever).

Onto BU and oh yeah they won't be too happy getting swept and with the Beanpot coming up hmmmm....

Blowing a 2-0 lead Friday with your season essentially on the line is incredibly disappointing - tonight's result aside. If UNH had finished off a tie at BU and a win last night, they're 12th in the Pairwise. Instead they're 15th - and first team out - pending tonight's final outcomes.

They MUST make hay over the next five games, not enough to just ride the opponent's (BC, BU, ME) strength of schedule any longer; and certainly MC is a must win...

There's your next stretch within the schedule: 2-2-1 at least, 3-2-0 would be awfully helpful...

Torn on listening to UNH players and coaches talking about HE points. A good way to focus on the game ahead of you? Sure. However, I couldn't care less about HE results the rest of the way - get into the NCAA Tournament! They gotta play for that PWR (and PWR says a split is not a good weekend outcome, while four HE points might disagree)...

Agreed that HEA standings do not matter much at this point in the season, and we likely will be still in the HEA basement when we meet UMass-Flagship for two in four weeks. But even being in a conference basement and simultaneously on the NCAA bubble this late in a season must be a first?

It was nice to see the team win tonight. What is more depressing is that this VT team is bad, and we lost last night. Though another oops by Whale with that half ice shot is concerning. Currently 15th but tougher stretch to come.

You aren’t thinking of making a new plaque for your hardware case are you? :p

Apparently the fear of an as* whooping in front of his peers, there for the alumni game/weekend, was motivation for MS7. Maybe they can attend the remainder of the season?

"These are the times that try men's souls." Agree it's all about the PWR at this point.
