True dat. But take a screen shot of the PWR right now where UNH is tied for 12th with 51 PWR points. Stranger than science.
Ok, sorry, I misspoke, as the senior that Norbert mentioned is not a captain but an alternate captain.
Nevertheless, it still amazes me that a senior forward who has played 102 games has not managed to score a single goal over 3+ seasons. I mean, what are the chances of that? As they say, even a blind squirrel finds a nut at least once in its lifetime.
Snively, not looking to ruffle feathers but what do and others have against this career forth liner? Perhaps we have different views on just what we value in a forth liner. This individual plays as effective defense as almost anyone on the team. He is always part of our PK and word is he has his teams respect as a player and leader. He has a good forecheck and back check. He is good along the boards and is effective getting the puck out of our defensive end. His scoring is very hard to understand, and yes most of us would hope he had 6-10 goals over these four years.
Who would you suggest replace him and his effective defense? Remind me of resent forth liners who have played better.
If people want to use the Warren Foegele debacle to tar and feather Connor Sweeney go for it. But at least get the facts straight. Foegele never "sat in the stands" so that the checking line could play. Foegele dressed for UNH in each of the first five games that season. By the time UNH played its sixth game, on Halloween, he was already gone.
While I agree with ATW and Chuck that player-elected captains and alternate captains get to dress for every game, I do not think that is a winning strategy, even if their total ice time is typically limited to less than 10 minutes per game. To revisit the 2015/2016 season (11-20-6), Collin MacDonald (6 goals and 5 assists in 70 games over four seasons), who had been elected captain by his teammates, scored one goal and zero assists from the “senior checking” third line in 19 games before suffering yet another season-ending injury, while sophomore Warren Foegele sat in the stands for all but five games, choosing to leave humiliated at the end of fall semester. MacDonald scored one goal and one assist in 15 games during his first season (2012/13), one goal and zero assists in 16 games during his second season (2013/14), and three goals and four assists in his injury-shortened 20 games during his high watermark third season (2014/15), when UNH went 19-19-2, their best record of the past decade until their breakout last season. Although there is not a Warren Foegele sitting in the stands this season, if I were head coach, I would still give the Windsor, Ontario, MacPherson twins more ice time on the fourth line to see what we have in them. I would be fine giving junior Skrastins and senior Lovett more time in the stands to make some ice time for the Ontario twins, who just might be able to help the alternate captain get his first career goal.
So, while I agree that the composition of the fourth line is not nearly as important as our portal transfer goalie, again, I think that the coaching staff should be looking to the future at the same time as going for some postseason presence this year. Finally, at least MacDonald managed 6 goals in 32 fewer career games and counting than this year’s alternate captain.

As for Patrick Foley, can someone remind me why he missed the 2000/01 season before returning in 2001/02 for his sophomore season? Agree that he was not a prolific scorer but he did end up with 23 goals and 34 assists over his four seasons, not bad for a fourth liner.
Not 100% certain, but I seem to recall it was a medically-induced redshirt season, Snives?
Pretty sure Foley had knee surgery r/t to his high school football days. It is my understanding he wore braces during his Freshman season. Foley may not have been a first liner but he helped UNH to 2 Frozen fours and a Final!!

Thank you for the correction. I didn't take your post in that context. I was merely pointing out that with 6 good players missing from the roster that obviously would weaken the team without them. Good luck moving forward to you guys as well.just a correction as you want accurate info on your UNH page. The poster said 7, there are only 6 so not a boast post. Good to see UNH improving again this year. Good luck going forward.
