I believe e.e. darin is working in the banking world down on the Cape, where he was just getting started back in the day. Word is that he spends his free time with one of the Cape League baseball teams in the summah. So he's just anothah one of us, living the dream. He had a few of his collars-up crew a/k/a The Chestnut Hillbillies, like Mav and SteveF (or FSteve as others might say - RIP, IIRC?) but I assume you are referring to the incomparable CHRIS!!!!, and with the downfall of the PWRR, who knows where that bad boy is hanging out these days?? Jim Rittinger was a good read back in the day, but I assume he's moved on to bigger/better, etc.

I hate to put out lists like these, only because of course it's been SO many years since the height (Heights?) of those hotly contested years, and you inadvertently leave someone out. I've kinda ebbed and flowed myself through the child-raising years, so I'm assuming some of those guys (and gals) are probably still around, but posting under different names. So be it, y'know ... and if someone has changed their online identity, it's almost like respecting their privacy not to wallow in "who now used to be who then" right? And for every Bobo or NickUNH who isn't posting with their old name(s) with us (if at all?), there's no reason to think some of the old folks with the BC or UMaine or other HEA crews aren't doing the same. I've had my suspicions, some of which I'm 99% certain of, but I'll leave it at that.
Anyway ... especially with the BC and UMaine crew, we used to do between-period get-togethers, as you know, and it was always fun getting to meet these folks who were your pseudo online "enemies" in person. In the early Internet days, before smart phones and social media took it all over, there was still an opportunity to have this huge human element to an uncomplicated message board like this one. Some day, you got to eat the bear ... and some day, the bear would eat you. And 2-3 times a year, for a few peaceful minutes, you got to see folks in person, drink some beer and realize they are hockey freaks like you, just rooting for a different jersey.
In the end, I think everyone was mature enough not to get too worked up over it, but immature enough to want to continue the online battles, at least while they were still legitimate battles. Had BC not won 3 out of 5 from 2008-2010-2012, my guess is that there might still be some gasoline to throw onto that fire ... but they won, UNH never got the big one (actually nothing worth writing about since 2003 now), and UMaine also followed us into the depths of mediocrity. Now, with UMaine BACK, and UNH at least toying with being (lower case) back, there is hope we can revisit some of these long-dormant/surpressed rivalries, although we are all personally much grayer and less likely to be wearing a school's sweater to games than back in the day. Another UNH win this afternoon/evening would add a little more fuel for the fire to get them back to Boston, where any meaningful BACK must be measured ...
