Grasso back for Year 6? 100 points, here we come!!

Maybe Marty decided that they would do another 3 year transition plan, this one to the next 100 point forward. Has worked well so far with the original one. :-)

reverse alpha order, so far. With Maass and Kelleher omitted. Just a theory, and Kelleher makes sense.

The suspense is killing me. OK, maybe not "killing" me, but ...

... so reduced to reading between the lines, I have to assume that Sato, Robinson and MacAdams will be leaving after this season, and we're still waiting to hear on Maass, Kelleher and Grasso?

They have been sending out tweets congratulating seniors. Presumably, scheduled for Thursday's last regular season game (Senior day).
They started with Sato, then Robinson, then MacAdams and finally Grasso. I suppose they could add more shout outs before the playoff game. My reading -- supported by my belief that Kelleher is a natural to return after his banged up limited senior year -- is that maybe they are only sending off the guys leaving, which would leave out Kelleher and Maass.

Our next senior is Patrick Grasso from Ankeny, Iowa. Patrick has played in 136 games (49 g, 48a, 97 pts) Honors: Hockey East All-Rookie Team, 2x National College Athlete Honor Society, 2x Assistant Captain Thank you Patrick!!

It's a good theory, if congratulations don't come in for Maass or Kelleher in the next few days - it probably is a sign they plan to return.

It will be interesting to see what comes from the seniors who are moving on, the only one with a clear path to professional hockey is Robinson. I wonder if the others will try that route, move on from hockey or enter the transfer portal and try to play a year somewhere else with their extra eligibility. I've always thought the later would be a good route for Grasso, sixth year or otherwise...

Could also read it this way:

Non letter wearing seniors by number (18, then 31);

Assistant letter wearing seniors by number (19, then 20, perhaps 28 next?);

Final salute would be to the Senior wearing the "C"

They duplicated some of the tweets, if I recall. Does that mean those players are leaving twice/can't leave soon enough? ;-)

I was gonna jab you for having too much time on your hands, but the more I think about it, I suspect your approach makes more sense than reverse alphabetical order. Whatever. It's been that kind of season, we're reduced to discussing the order of senior announcements.

Per Dan's take ... who wants to chime in on where Patrick Grasso is going to be next season?

(a) Northeastern
(b) Merrimack
(c) Quinnipiac
(d) Miami of Ohio
(e) ECHL destination TBD
(f) European destination TBD
(g) UNH volunteer assistant coach

Luce is only slightly less mediocre than Borek and his former assistant MS7.

After crushing Providence today, Luce has a 4th place HE finish (part of the big 4 with BC/BU/Umass), all while recruiting without an arena. He may be a bit older and therefore getting closer to the age in which to make the move for the last big job, but he's still pretty good. UNH could have done worse in 2015.

If UNH had hired him then, or hires him in the future, I'm out. Seriously. Let's leave it at that.

I know you're baiting me when I see the "Big 4" reference, although I can absolutely hear Luce rolling that line out (plus the "no arena" schtick) in one of his recruiting forays. He's in his 8th year at Storrs now, and his high water mark has been two .500 seasons this year and last, and his only winning season to date was his first season, when UConn was still in AHA pre-Hockey East. He is currently in his "last big job", unless Borek gets canned, and MC is looking for a BS artist who can push the program slightly closer to .500 (without exceeding it) than usual. He has made UConn everything I used to accuse pre-Carvel UMass of being. Totally irrelevant.

Mediocrity, thine name is Luce Canaan. Pass. No - make that hard pass.

Geez, for someone so mediocre you certainly talk about him a lot.
