UNE gets slapped by the NCAA...

Re: UNE gets slapped by the NCAA...

WTH were you baninated for?!?! And a warm welcome to the thin air, I'll have to work on converting you to the OTHER crimson and gold!

Making too many changes in my account to suit their gatekeeper robot, I guess. Derek intervened on my behalf to get the account reactivated. I've moved to Lafayette because my son, who lives in Westminister, became the proud father of twins at Chrismas-time, and it was time to move from Northfield. Since my daughter lives in Columbus, OH, the choice between moving to CO or OH was pretty clear. Already discovered a great golf course - not the same kind of bargain that Northfield is, but it does have twice as many holes. :D

As for DU hockey, I expect to be there, but they aren't NU and they aren't Dartmouth, but they are nearby, so they will serve the purpose.

NCAA hands down penalties to UNE
By Chris Roy Published: 14th June 2012

The National Collegiate Athletic Association handed down its ruling on Tuesday, placing the University of New England on probation as a result of rules violations regarding the amount of financial aid awarded to players from the hockey team.

but didn’t happen to just the hockey program right? This is for all sports?
If there really was something wrong I support NCAA. We need to follow the rules, but my opinion is NCAA rules are outdated. But in general I feel NCAA takes the power and flexibility out of the universities/colleges hands.
NCAA football is an absolute joke. Basketball isn’t much better. But hockey gets the violations.

And, in this case... The basketball coach along with the hockey coach mis-handled procedures in dealing with the Diversity Scholarship.... Yet, it was only the six players from the hockey team that were sanctioned. Two players stayed at the school, but two left and went to USM, one to Plymouth St. and the goalie went back home to Alberta. I'm not sure if he's even playing.

I'll probably go to a few Denver games myself, I don't know if I'll like the transition to watching DI from DIII. Welcome to Colorado by the way.

Why not? Division I hockey is like D-III on steroids (excuse the pun). I'd take watching the D-I guys in small rinks any day of the week over D-III. (and I love D-III hockey)

If you were a bit older (like me), you could have watched Norwich take on Clarkson in the bandbox Walker (nee Clarkson) Arena.

Going through all of this changing car registrations, driver's licenses, you name it is already starting to get old.

Interestingly enough enough, found some Cabot extra sharp in the premium cheese department of King Soopers right up the street from my house. Haven't seen any MacAdam's cheddar though. The local preference appears to be Tillamook Cheddar. I'll keep all informed.

And that's how I knew about it for almost a year now....

You will love the Magness Arena in the Ritchie Center...named after a couple of fellow cable pioneers and former business partners of mine in the 80's...:D

For my Girlfriend and I to go to a game, or all the games is WAY more expensive than when we went to all the Oswego games.

Welcome to D-1. Right now I'm paying $150 for my season ticket at Adrian, which I suspect is close to the top of D-3. The last year I had tickets at Michigan I shelled out about $850 for two, and I knew someone who was spending $1150 for a pair.

My eight Cardinal season tickets cost only $960.
