UNE gets slapped by the NCAA...

Welcome to D-1. Right now I'm paying $150 for my season ticket at Adrian, which I suspect is close to the top of D-3. The last year I had tickets at Michigan I shelled out about $850 for two, and I knew someone who was spending $1150 for a pair.

Charlie can check my figures but I believe Norwich season tickets are $140.

I whole-heartedly agree with this statement.

I don't think we realize how good we've got it with regards to ticket prices. When you'll pay $5 to go see a varsity high school football game, $10 or so for NCAA hockey is money well-spent.

Interestingly enough enough, found some Cabot extra sharp in the premium cheese department of King Soopers right up the street from my house. Haven't seen any MacAdam's cheddar though. The local preference appears to be Tillamook Cheddar. I'll keep all informed.

See what happened - IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT :p

Oswego's Men's season tickets are $105. What's odd is that the women's season tickets are $112. Very few people understand the logic there, especially when the women's games typically draw less than 100 people. That could possibly be even worse this season, given Oswego's potential NCAA trouble. I'm hearing (and I don't know for sure) is that just about every Canadian player from the women's team isn't coming back. Many (if not all) of the men's players are coming back and will pay their own way.

15 seniors with one year left to go in their education. Maybe 1 or 2 go on to play any sort of pro hockey worthwhile.

I dont know how many of those 15 are canadian but one year of paying more money with the chance to get your degree and get one last shot at winning a national championship after missing out the last 3 years with arguably the most or definitely one of the most talented squads in country.

Re: UNE gets slapped by the NCAA...

I'll take my 40 dollar season tickets at the aud all the way to the bank......

I would, too. Good grief. You're stealing hockey over there.

20 years ago my student tickets at Ferris were $35.

To earn a diploma, most schools require that a minimum number of credits be taken at/from their school; IIRC, most require 45-60 credit hours. They'd have to weigh paying $X rate for 30 hours vs. $Y rate for 60 hours at another school. Probably was simply a mathe(NuProf)matical calculation reality.

Most schools require that the final 30 (for semester schools) or 45 (for quarter schools) credits be taken at the school giving the degree. Special arrangements can be made sometimes for unusual circumstances. I remember that Nick Cote transferred from MCLA to NU to complete his senior year when MCLA dropped hockey, but arrangements were made in advance so that his credits would transfer back and he could graduate from MCLA.
