Re: (un-) Official Minnesota Vikings 2009-2010 season thread

Anyone interested in going to New Orleans? I can get there Saturday and fly home Monday morning for 25,000 frequent flyer miles.

If Dallas didn't want to have the score run up then maybe they shouldnt have been calling TOs like the game was still in doubt. They were still playing like it was a game so shouldnt the Vikes do the same?

Or better yet Brookings maybe you should sack up and actually do something while on the field.

"Shiancoe laughed after hearing Brooking's comments. "OK, we apologize. I'm sorry. Better?" :D

Agreed. Its the playoffs, pile it on. PA and the other guy on radio said that it was basically a statement to the Saints...

I'm debating the same thing at the moment. I wonder how impossible tickets will be. The last time I flew out and paid a bunch of money of NFC championship game tickets it didn't turn out so well.

$330 each, for upper deck ends/corners on stubhub. so you might be able to get them for less than that.

I didn't realize there was a Cryboy on the field named Brookings until the last minute of the game.

What a wanker. Seriously, this isn't exactly pop warner football. Just stop whining and go home and count your money or something.

The Cowboys are just overestimating their importance. Getting that last touchdown didn't have anything to do with them. That one was to plant a seed of doubt squarely in the head of the Saints.

Wait.... Romo didn't cry but a LB cried?

Wow. Well... not unreasonable. After all, the Viking offense did make the Cowgirl D look like babies. Favre goes back to pass and there are what... 11 soiled diapers under those silver pants?

Nothing says overrated like a big blue star.

In any case, congrats to the Vikings and even that abysmal coach of yours.

It's all gravy now.

Love that quote :D

Should we give Childress credit for preparing this team and good coaching during the game?

I was perusing the Dallas Morning News site and for a moment I thought I had stumbled into ss.com. :p ;)

Re: (un-) Official Minnesota Vikings 2009-2010 season thread

I like Barrerio's take on Chili after the game. He calls him the Secret Squirrel.

SQUIRREL, SECRET -- We might have to retire the old Chili nickname once and for all after Sunday. He got the playoff win his resume, and the circumstances, demanded, but there were no asterisks here. The victory was thorough and it was authoritative.

There was also this: A far more brash, less close to the vest, Chili than we are accustomed to after the game. Not saying he's Jimmy Johnson just yet, but he did come perilously close to running up the score: "I heard all that nonsense and all the hype about the Dallas Cowboys coming to town, the hottest team in the playoffs," Chili said. "I asked my team early in the week to choke it back and shut up. We will play the game when we get here on Sunday. The game is always won on the football field."

Meaning what? "Just that the Tasmanian Devils that were coming from Dallas were about to bombard the state of Minnesota and run through us like Sherman through the South. That was the aura that was left after last weekend's games. A lot of us kind of felt that quite palpably. All of it, and then we had about enough of it come Tuesday."

The Squirrel bites back!

If you're still looking to go... Here's a new deal from Sun Country.

Sun Country will Fly Vikings Fans to New Orleans

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - Sun Country Vacations, an arm of Sun Country Airlines, will be chartering a flight for Vikings fans to New Orleans on Sunday.

NFC championship game tickets are not included in the ticket price, which is $399 for coach and $599 for first class, per person. The price includes transportation from the New Orleans airport to Louisiana Superdome for tailgating.

The Sun Country flight leaves out of the Humphrey Terminal at 8:00 a.m. and arrives in New Orleans at 10:35 a.m. It leaves New Orleans at 11:30 p.m. and arrives back in Minneapolis at 2:00 a.m. Monday.

When will cities like ____Paul, ____ Cloud ____ Peter, etc. be dropping the "S" word from their names? Soon I hope. I find it offensive.
