(un-) Official Minnesota Vikings 2009-2010 season thread

Re: (un-) Official Minnesota Vikings 2009-2010 season thread

I stopped getting too high or low on this team after the '98-'99 season. If a one loss team can do what that one did at home against Atlanta, there's just no sense staying too attached to what happens on the field.

One constant that has existed with the Vikes over the past decade or so is inept/incompetent coaching. The team is always good for some major boneheaded errors at inopportune times and/or meltdowns.

Fixed.

Denny Green? Great reg season coach (Parise, I hate saying that). Post-season? You, me, Handy, even Scooby could out-coach him, given the same staff, for 60 minutes.

Burnsie? Love the guy, but meh.

Tice? Was not ready for the job. Didn't have the support, either.

Steckel? I won't even bother commenting.

You really can't just enjoy watching games for entertainment value can you? That really has to suck :)
That's what movies are for.

I'd try to be optimistic for the playoffs if this team wasn't so freakin' horrible on the road.

@ Arizona: L (no showed)
@ Pittsburgh: L (competitive but bad luck INT costs them)
@ Carolina: L (no showed)
@ Chicago: L (no showed for a half, sloppy)

Should MN fail to get the #2 seed, even if they survive the first round, they're almost certainly going to Philly. Anyone see a W there? Anyone? Bueller? :p
Nope. I said last week they needed the two seed. Now they're done. And I'm supposed to just enjoy it.

Go Dallas!

Why do I have faith they can win?

Because I know little about how good the Eagles actually are.

I think not getting too high on this team is a good idea, because I am major bumming right now. :(

Re: (un-) Official Minnesota Vikings 2009-2010 season thread

I think most rational Vikings fans (are there any rational football fans?) realize the team is sitting much better than they either expected, or deserved, to be at this point in the season. Let's be candid. They won two games at home (SF and Balt.) they had no business winning and realistically should be getting ready to face the Giants in a game to determine the final playoff spot.

Instead, they get a tuneup game against the Giants, and a minimum of one game at home in the playoffs. The way things have gone the last few years, they could end up playing every game at home anyway.

That being said, he really needs to learn that sometimes its better to just run out of bounds, or go down instead of fighting for 5 more inches. I think thats when the majority of his fumbles occur. In that case, he got the first down, thats what the team needed...run out and get the ball again.

Running out of bounds is for *****'s. Walter Payton never ran out of bounds. Sometimes you just have to tip your hat to a great defensive play.

I treated last night like a bowl game. Bears win!

I'd say good luck in the playoffs, but I wouldn't mean it. :) :p

So far so good, the Vikes almost seem to be using Taylor to set up Peterson.

Re: (un-) Official Minnesota Vikings 2009-2010 season thread

Vikings have a possible bye in their sites and with the last 6 quarters of football they've played and the rest and a home game in two weeks (assuming Dallas wins here, being optimistic  ) you can all but forget about the Arizona and Chicago games.

It's a bannable offense to hack into other people's accounts. At least in theory, we all know board won't do anything.

First you were positive about the Gopher Hockey team last night and now THIS!

Re: (un-) Official Minnesota Vikings 2009-2010 season thread
