UML Road trip to Denver.

Re: UML Road trip to Denver.

I like Falling Rock but Great Divide is a must hit too IMO and Freshcraft has good beer and even better food. If you have an extra day head towards Boulder and Longmont for other breweries.

Or Fort Collins. ;)

Actually headed to Denver in Dec for the MN series in the Springs (friends that I'm staying with are in Denver). There is one place I always hit: Pat's Pub downtown for my cheesesteak. Will have to ask about Longmont. I don't think I've been there yet.

Edit: there are other Pat's Pubs that are part of that chain, but only the downtown one has had Cheez Whiz (which is essential) last I checked.

Re: UML Road trip to Denver.

Does that mean you've got a hotel room already?
Yes.
You will want to hit Falling Rock Tap House, Freshcraft and Great Divide. I can come up with more beer locations for you if you want.
I have never made a trip to Denver without hitting the Rock...
You could honestly stop right there. ;)
... And usually that's what happens. Haven't been to Great Divide, might have to try this time, but I love the Falling Rock. Sit outside, enjoy some great beers, smoke a cigar ... perfect.

Re: UML Road trip to Denver.

Who else is making the Denver trip? I don't want to bear the costs of car and hotel all on my own and I want to buddy up on activities and the like. I'll amend my flight if I have to... right now I'm Thursday-Sunday.

Can still help you with the car...

Can still help you with the car...

If you guys are staying downtown I assume it'll cost an arm, a leg, and certain... um... vital parts. If I can swing gov't rate nearby that'd help... it'd still mean I'd have to shell 500/3 nights... hell of a lot better than 800.

edit: as I said in the last e-mail (and throwing it out there because the principle holds) the more I know, the more information I have, the better I can figure out my best course of action.

edit: found gov't rate at the Grand Hyatt.

Hotel booked... only thing left is the game tickets and a liver cleansing.

It looks like the car rental cost has dropped significantly since the last time I looked. On Travelocity Payless currently has full size cars for ~ $79.00 (Oct 18 - 21). Even cheaper for smaller models.

Re: UML Road trip to Denver.

I wasn't going to be able to afford this trip but thanks to Mom's $500 travel voucher on United that she can't use, I can go. :) Booked my ticket last night.

Re: UML Road trip to Denver.

Car is finally booked. If anyone is interested I was thinking of looking into renting a minivan or bus depending on how many to drive us down to Colorado springs for the Saturday night game. I figure this way we all can enjoy ourselves before and after the game without worring about the drive back. If any one is interested let me know and I can get a price. I can be reached at beachockey@comcast.net Go Riverhawks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
