UML Recruiting: Finally in the 20s!

Re: UML Recruiting: Finally in the 20s!

Alabama Huntsville's leading scorer Josh Latta is transferring to Lowell. From British Columbia, he had a 7-11-18 in 32 games last year. He's 5'11", 180 pounds. Latta had an assist in each of the two UAH losses at Lowell last year.

Re: UML Recruiting: Finally in the 20s!

I love seeing that the Truman brothers and Cole will be in the USHL next year.

Re: UML Recruiting: Finally in the 20s!

Scout Truman's rights are held by the Green Bay Gamblers in the USHL.

Re: UML Recruiting: Finally in the 20s!

UML commit Owen Cole has been picked in the 5th Round (65 overall) of the USHL draft by Cedar Rapids.

Re: UML Recruiting: Finally in the 20s!

Scout Truman is drafted by Des Moines in the 9th Round (129 overall).

Re: UML Recruiting: Finally in the 20s!

Allen is expected to enroll at Lowell this year, so I get the feeling Sioux City is taking a gamble just in case.

I'm a little confused about that too. Norm made it sound like he was coming in during the STH call, but the Sun article makes it sound like it's not a done deal.

Another forward, Matt Allen, has also committed to UML, but it’s unknown whether he will join the River Hawks for next season or the 2021-22 campaign.

Re: UML Recruiting: Finally in the 20s!

In the 16th Round last night, Cedar Rapids drafted Roux Bazin ... Coach Norm Bazin's nephew. He's an '03, last played in the MJHL. Neutral Zone rates him as a 3.5/5*.

Regardless ... if all these guys make their respective teams, Lowell could have Allen, Blanchard, Harper, Cole and the Trumans all in the USHL.

Brett is an '00 and is listed by Neutral Zone as a 3.5/5. He was taken in the 12th round (#169) by Sioux City. He currently plays in the BCHL.

Based on my count there's currently 14 forwards, 15 if Allen comes in. It looks like there's room for another forward or two. A solid grad transfer would be nice. It appears the NCAA will delay any decision on changes to the transfer rule so Josh Latta will have to sit a year.

Re: UML Recruiting: Finally in the 20s!

NAHL Supplemental Draft is ongoing now.

Amateur players less than 21 years of age on December 31, 2020 who are not listed on an NAHL team roster or are listed on an NAHL team roster but played less than (10) NAHL regular season and/or playoff games during the 2019-20 season and did not accept a tender from an NAHL team prior to the 2020 NAHL Supplemental Draft are eligible for selection in the draft.

Jack Bayless was the 57th Pick of the Draft, taken by New Mexico. He played last year for the Wenatchee Wild (BCHL). He put up a 5-12-17 in 51 games there.
