Re: UML Recruiting, Building for the future

First version for the year...

Stats for UML recruits through last night.

If any recruits are listed for two possible starting seasons, I'm going to use the earlier season, just to make it easier.
Code:
[B]2013[/B]
[U]Name POS TEAM (League) HT WT DOB GP G A PTS PIM[/U]
Evan Campbell LW Langley (BCHL) 6'2 190 03/01/93 3 2 6 8 6
Corey Scammon LD Cowichan Valley (BCHL) 5'10 175 05/06/93 5 0 1 1 2
Dylan Shapiro RW Boston Jr Bruins (EJHL) 6'3 185 06/04/93 1 0 1 1 0
Casey Shea RW NH Jr Monarchs (EJHL) 5'10 160 04/01/94 2 0 1 1 0
J.T. Stenglein LW Youngstown Phantoms (USHL) 6'0 200 07/11/93 2 1 1 2 0

[B]2014[/B]
[U]Name POS TEAM (League) HT WT DOB GP G A PTS PIM[/U]
Tyler Sifferlin LW Malden Catholic 6'0 175 08/23/95

BTW, found this interesting article about Sifferlin, he grew up (not surprisingly) a Merrimack fan. Makes getting him to commit to Lowell even better.

A five point (4-1-5) game for J.T. Stenglein tonight as Youngstown defeated Waterloo 8-6.

Was Tyler supposed to be 2014? If not, what's the diff between the two tables?

Re: UML Recruiting, Building for the future

Recruit J.T. Stenglein named USHL CCM Forward of the Week.

The Alberni Valley press release on new recruit Evan Anderson.

Have to love this line in the article about Anderson.
“To have a quality school like UMass-Lowell recruit you when you are still in grade 12 and only 17 years old is a real tribute to Evan,” said Bulldogs’ educational advisor Tom McEvay. “Maury loved it at UMass-Lowell so it is fantastic to have another Bulldog play for the Riverhawks,” added McEvay.

Re: UML Recruiting, Building for the future

From the Countdown to Faceoff Blog ... found this bit from Captain Wetmore...

P.S. I told Nick Gordon, who is red-shirting that I would say something about him in my blog and I want to keep to my word. Nick will be a welcome addition to the forwards next season and has been great to have around the locker room this year. Lastly, be sure to keep an eye on Chad Ruhwedel and Derek McCoy as they grow their hair out all year long!
I wonder if this is the same guy? Played for NMH prior to that...

Re: UML Recruiting, Building for the future

It is the same Nick Gordon. He went to RIT, was hurt all last season and will be redshirting this year. Seems to fit the new type of big forward Bazin is bringing in at 6'2

Thank you. I hadn't heard that he'd transferred over.

Re: UML Recruiting, Building for the future

Chris Heisenberg is reporting that recruit JT Stenglein has decommitted from UML. No reason mentioned. Tough loss as he seems to be a pretty good player. Is it just me or are there more players decommitting from schools than there used to be? Gaudreau, Roy, Murphy, Girgenson (though he went pro), and that is just off the top of my head.

That stinks, I wonder where he'll end up. Yes, It seems to be a growing trend.

The number of decommitts really isn't that surprising though. Some of these kids are committing when they're 15 or 16 years old. Not sure if that's the case with all of those mentioned, though.
