UML Recruiting, Building for 2018 and on

Re: UML Recruiting, Building for 2018 and on

For those that keep thinking Amherst hockey will continue to be blah ...

The USHL Player of the Year will be a frosh next year there.

With the USHL Draft is going on, the 3rd pick of the Phase 2 Draft(born before 2002), 2nd Round Pick 17 and 2nd Round Pick 29 all are Amherst commits.

Based on various threads, it appears Austin Plevy will be heading to Northeastern and Evan Tironese and Max Willman will be heading to BU. According to the Mack Report Providence and Northeastern are looking at Larsson.

Re: UML Recruiting, Building for 2018 and on

Andranik Armstrong could join Harper at Sioux City, drafted in the 12th Round (184 overall) in the USHL.

Re: UML Recruiting, Building for 2018 and on

Shreveport won and Procopio set up the game winner. Sawchuck also scored the lone goal for Minot. Both defensemen were named to the all tournament team. Good stuff.

Couple of good lines from Chris Dilks at SBN, as he was talking about his tournament MVPs.
Dilks said:
The best player of the weekend for me was Procopio, who was an absolute horse on defense, followed by Sawchuk, who was nearly as good. Both are committed to UMass Lowell, and it looks like the River Hawks got a couple steals.

Re: UML Recruiting, Building for 2018 and on

Jonathan McDonald (Fargo) is the only recruit still playing. Fargo and Youngstown are playing for the USHL Championship. The best of 5 series is currently tied at 1 game a piece.

Re: UML Recruiting, Building for 2018 and on

Borek starting to sell some kids on MC. Liam Walsh ('99) of Cedar Rapids commits for 2019, a 4 star according to Neutral Zone. Second in a week for Borek, after getting 3.75 star '00 Evan McIntyre.

3.75* Aidan Curran choses UNH. Only reason I'm bringing this up, he's from Dracut.

It's not just said POY - but also his high scoring D of a brother, Trivigno, Farmer, Felix and the Finnish goalie. Carvel will win at UMass. Period. And if it begins this season I won't be the least bit surprised. He was a great hire for them...
