UML Recruiting, 2017+

Re: UML Recruiting, 2017+

Trevor Zins will be back in Cedar Rapids for at least this weekend with 2 defenseman gone to the WJAC and WJC.

Cedar Rapids put him on the affiliate list which means he could possibly be delayed going to UML a year. We shall see how it plays out at the end of the year

Thanks for the information Scott. How did Zins look in his earlier games with Cedar Rapids? I know Cedar Rapids really struggled out of the gate this season resulting in several trades / roster moves.

Not surprise about a possible delayed arrival. Looking at Lowell's current D recruits many on here figured Zins may play another year of junior.

Re: UML Recruiting, 2017+

Big get for PC.

@JeffCoxSports
1 of top '02 forwards in US, Cole Vallese (NJ Colonials 14U) commits to Providence. Elite skater, shifty, good hands, vision, protects puck.

Also a decommit from Maine ...
@JeffCoxSports
'99 Neil Shea has de-committed from Maine. Lawrence Academy F has good hockey IQ, is good passer. Brother of Maine freshman Pat.

@JeffCoxSports
Re: Shea de-committing from Maine was due to wanting to play closer to home. He's already receiving interest from other Hockey East teams.
Shea is a Marshfield kid.

Re: UML Recruiting, 2017+

Recruit Charles Levesque has made the Canada East squad for the upcoming 2016 World Jr. A Challenge.

Canada East defeated Czech Republic 4-1 yesterday. Charles Levesque had a goal and an assist. Their next game will be Tuesday night against the USA. The video feed of the games is free.

In the other game, Canada West defeated Switzerland 6-2. Top UMass recruit Cale Makar had 5 points (2-3-5) in the win. The Minutemen have a good one coming in next season.

Cale Makar (Calgary, Alta./Brooks, AJHL) became the first defenceman in World Junior A Challenge history to record five points in a game, scoring twice and adding three assists to lead Canada West to a tournament-opening 6-2 win over Switzerland on Sunday night.

UMass picks up their 6th '99 commitment. Doesn't seem to matter that they keep losing!

I'm telling you, somehow they're tricked into thinking they're really committing to UML and somehow end up at Amherst. But so far it hasn't mattered as things just never seem to get better out there which I'm ok with.

Give it time for Carvel. This is a total rebuild and the cupboard is completely bare. He will get that program going in a couple of seasons.

For what ever reason things didn't work out for Ruggiero at PC. The USNDP alum only played in 16 games in 1.5 seasons for the Friars.
