UML Offseason Begins

Re: UML Offseason Begins

That's one ugly looking blue line.
I don't know if I agree with that. Badger and Furlong had some strong moments last year as freshmen, but Ruhwedel was solid as a frosh. If Lyles is any good, he should fit right in, so your top 2 d-lines are set. Corcoran is going to have to step up his play to get time, and we'll need a couple of the freshmen to step up this year. So there's potential there ...

Re: UML Offseason Begins

Heffron will be playing for Salem State this season.
Hope he gets a chance. Fair or not, he wasn't ever going to get a shot at Lowell.

Same as I don't think Massie will see the ice this year either.

Re: UML Offseason Begins

Why do I think this will not be done next year? :(

Why do you think they'll include us anyhow?

Lets not go around hoping they'll appreciate us 'cause of our good character. My opinion... who cares about them... we're Lowell... let's do our own thing and out work them.

Re: UML Offseason Begins

Waaaaay too much of a good thing. Last time was great because of the winter classic and BU BC matchup was the right 1 for the occasion. This is not gonna get me to come out on a January night.

This. If you want to watch Hockey it doesn't sound like you see much even in the 'good' seats. The ice stinks. I would go if Mr got free tix and it was our team, otherwise couldn't be bothered.

Patman....how'd you make it through the storm up in Arlington? We got blasted down here in Norfolk. Hope everyone stays (stayed) safe through the weather.

Nice and easy... power barely went out... I suspect it went out for a few seconds around 2:30 am when I was woken by my phone re-starting a charge (iphone... it buzzes when it connects). Didn't venture out much once it started raining... I did want to get something else done on Saturday but when the rain started earlier than I expected I bailed on that. No thunder, no lightning... pretty good wind but nothing terribly serious by any means.

Re: UML Offseason Begins

On a different note, defending DII Champions UML Field Hockey are voted #1 in the pre-season poll.

Although the field hockey head coach is an alum ('98), with all of the success she's had at the DII level (2 NCAA titles, 6 NE-10 titles, 4 national coach of the year awards, and 7 NE-10 coach of the year awards - all in 9 seasons) I wouldn't be surprised to see a small-to-medium sized DI program to come in an try to poach her. Hopefully she's not a flight risk....and hopefully the ice hockey team can see some success with its new UML grad at the helm :D

Just over a month to go...

Just back on after going out yest morning. That was no fun! Lots of trees down in the hood. Nothing big in our yard. Phew.

I, for one, don't think she is going anywhere. In addition to being the field hockey head coach, she is also an assistant AD. It would have to be a significant offer for her to leave.

Re: UML Offseason Begins

First men's soccer match of the year today... Currently up 1-0 on Dowling in the 8th minute...
#betterthantherevolution (is it inappropriate to hash tag on a message board?)

Ha, OK that's funny right there. :)

Go Hawks!

It's actually tied right now.

Here's an oddball thought... I wonder if US soccer would be any better off if it let colleges train for and compete in the US open cup

US Soccer would be better if the NCAA would actually play soccer with the same rules to help kids get to the pro level. F'in subs constantly ... annoying.

Lowell lost 2-1 BTW today.
